Hi all digging this up for a bit of an update
I've changed the top rad from an alphacool XT45 to the monsta
in order to keep the bottom of the fans about the same height and hiding under that shroud the top fans went external
using the Koolance shroud and a homemade/mix and match grill
Having called this playtime for long enough I thought it was about time it had its name on it
reason for rad change, the fan controller run's them at half speed about 600rpm
with the temp probe fixed to one of the rads as coolant temp rises the fans step up to 1200rpm at a coolant temp of 30c and was doing so,Now with the monsta in there they stay on low speed
I've also change the 2500k for the 3770k, delided it and direct mount it
the die is 0.56mm high so I've used 0.5mm thermal pad around it, not for any heat transfer but to help steady any block wobble and give a more even pressure on the pcb
now for any change in temps
not a proper OC just set ram manually multi to 45 Vcore 1.3 and llc to high and ran it for before and after temps
before ave temp over cores 87c
after ave temp 64 a drop of 23c I'm well happy with that
now I'm one happy chappy
