Playtime

Hello, my first post here I believe but I had to speak.
I think you have a brilliant build. I personally like all the carbon wrap.
Purple is also my favorite colour so that's a bonus to my eyes.
I like the front mod, mesh has never looked good.
The PSU box was a very good idea, one I may have to copy in the future. (if possible)
How did you stick your SSD / HDD to the side of your case? I wish to do that. I'm guessing double sided sticky tape, or is that far too cheap of an idea?
The GPU clocks are impressive, with very good temps.
Is that the lowest you can get your Vcore to keep that 4.8Ghz? My 2500k reaches 4.8 with 1.392343423~ volts.
I also agree with you about your rads. Best to have too much, rather than too little. No harm can come of it.
I love the idea of the fan controller being cut into the PSU box. I'm not sure why as it could be impractical as you can't adjust it easily, or is it software controlled?

Over all, a very nice build mate. Very nice indeed.

P.S. I also agree with you about doing this to get your mind of other subjects.
Just don't allow yourself to run away with it.

Well what can I say I,m very proud and honored to see this Facebooked
and to seeing the view counter go to 13.5k is just wow :D:D:D

God, I'm really digging this, especially the colour combo (and the lacing, obviously ;)).

thanks mate wonder where I'd seen the lacing done?

Never seen cable lacing before, looks amazing. Colour contrast, is subtle but the overall effect is sweet. I'm not a great fan of carbon wraps but you have done a great job, real labour of love. You can be proud of your creation. My rig looks like a complete mess in comparison.

thanks mate, the cable lacing is down to Alpenwasser video a big thank you him for showing us how its done

thanks mate glad you like it
4.8 needed 1.48V to stable so dropped back to 4.6@1.44v guess I didn't win the lottery on that one
ssd/hdd mounting is on a piece perspex cut to fit in the side of the normal drive cage, its drilled through to used the ssd/hdd mounting holes then I drilled and tapped into the perspex with 3mm screws through from the inside of the of the drive cage,
the fan controller doesn't get adjusted once setup, I set a running speed of about 800rpm and a set temp of 30c once the temp reaches 30c the fans ramp up to 12V/1200rpm so no need to adjust, the temp sensor is fixed to bottom of front rad to hide cables and give an idea of water temp, the reading doesn't need to be very accurate just a ref point for switching
welcome to the mad house :) I mean forum
congrats on the clean build.
love it
thanks mate

one of the facebook comments said about the drain hose ruining the look I've never been that happy with it but I have no ideas what to do with it have any of you?

Omg you actualy did it, you made a purple build. I always wanted to do it,it looks amazing. Im for sure going to keep this as an example, keep up the good work!

Hi all been a while since any updates to this
having had to move things around in the room I now find the rig on the left hand side of me with window facing the wall ( and wasting the window)
so what can a guy do? well I stripped it to bare case got the drill out and played
before playing
1549395_3905862822275_15287226_n.jpg

honest it fell off in my hand :)
1724699_3905862942278_1793314281_n.jpg

and after awaiting rivets
1798099_3905862462266_600908279_n.jpg

also planing a few other changes as well if my hands can do what my mind can see

what was nice of xigmatek was the drilling of most the holes on both sides of the case anyway making the job real easy for me:)

Haha, yeah I noticed something like that on my InWin case which I'm using for
APOLLO as well when I took it apart. You could very easily switch it around and
make it reverse ATX. The core chassis is identical on top and bottom, all you'd
need to do is swap the cover panels from the top and bottom as well as the case
feet and you'd be good to go, you wouldn't even need to do any drilling, it's just
a few screws. :D

got a bit more done today mounted the front rad
turned the brackets round as it was first made for 80mm thick rad and a 60mm is fitted now
From this

To this

it set's them back about 25mm and seem's to reduce fan noise as they may have been too close to the front grill.

Last time round I put white wrap on the MB tray
trying something different now, I cut some 3mm white acrylic to go on the tray
this goes just under the edge of the MB
Then cut some 8mm clear acrylic to overlay the white this is still work in progress
the plan is to come up to 10mm off the MB, chamfer to edge and edge light it with an LED strip from the opposite side

The idea if it works is the white will reflect as much light along the acrylic as possible wrap the face in black so the edge against the MB and the cable cut outs stand out purple
if it work you see picture if not you see it wrapped again :)
edit 2/2/14
bit of machining done looks like it may work
1017627_3911094433062_148155615_n.jpg

face of it still has protective coat on so it shows as blue this will be black carbon wrapped later
and a channel cut in edge to take the leds instead of just laid on

Ha ha my excuse for everything, I have similar 50/50 LED lighting with the inline hue controller they are great kits but tricky to solder onto the strips.

Subbed looking forward to where your going with it.

A bit of work done now progress is slow this week
got myself one of these this week never flame polished before
a few practice pieces later I got the feel for the melt and not burn point:)
1540418_3924095398078_324007051_o.jpg

and done some of this

now the MB tray cover is in 3 pieces

with a rabbit around the edge for the led strip

I think that will work

This actually looks very good!

thanks mate, somehow I read that as if your surprised it worked, I was :)

Now that is a really nice lighting effect you have managed to achieve there.

Awesomeness!
cheers mate

done a little machining today thats in 8mm acrylic

wonder where I got that idea maybe it was here
planning on doing same lighting on this so the edge around the ssd's light up

Well, your intentions weren't very clear to me and I thought you were going to make the entire motherboard tray white and lit-up, but I'm pleasantly surprised :)

My intentions are never very clear to me either I tend to start with a vague idea and see where I can go with it
