Playtime

digging this thread up for a little update
gone and bought myself a fan controller Lamptron FC tough
$T2eC16dHJGIFFooP-WwMBRiTzlI7Cw~~60_12.JPG

two reasons behind using this and not 7/5v reducers
1) I'm running 2500k@4.7 and 2x7970@1200/1800 all on water, reducing fans to 7v runs fine for a couple of hours of gaming but water temp slowly rises so gpu/cpu temps slowly rise to a point where they become unstable
2) running fans on 12v everything works great but all though the spectre's are fairly quiet they annoy the wife
the wife is terminally ill and one of the side affects is her sense of smell and her hearing are very heightened(if I fart in shed at bottom of garden 25 yards away she will hear and smell it :) )
so the ideal was fans running slow for normal use browsing etc ramping up for gaming
the gaming happens in the afternoon when she's sleeping and she sleeps through it
right back to the playing dont think the controller is going to fit here somehow

O look at all that room at the bottom with the psu cover there is only the pump in there
262315_3059871233014_1313407327_n.jpg

the side brackets have to go nothing to fix them to anyway

1395427_3582229811652_1074003653_n.jpg

cut opening in psu cover and made a face plate the aly bracket being trapped between the 2 to hold it all together

1390715_3582230011657_760822834_n.jpg

now cutting the wrap on the psu cover around the face plate may make sense it lets the light through and lights the edge of the face plate

now we got 15 fans in there normally running at 800rpm the pump slowed a bit to make it quieter and the leds dimmed
room temp 20-22C water normally 25-27C
set controller to 30C at that temp the fans ramp up to 1200rpm
pump also ramps up at 30C and just because I can do it at a water temp of 35C the leds will ramp up to 12v though I've not seen that yet unless I stick a finger on the temp probe

thanks guy
shame I can only give you crap phone pictures but you got to use what you got
them leds are actually purple but they show blue

Very nice build! Also, I noticed the Sabertooth Z77 looks like a mATX mobo in that case lol. That case must be huge

Hi folks and folkess time to dig this one up again
just lately temps have been creeping up, done some digging and what do we have here
1474393_3661831401642_1903248075_n.jpg

the hose has softened and flattened not good
been running 13/10mm so I'm going to go 19/13mm hopefully that will stand up a bit better
and as I'm draining it I'm going to change the pump out with the Phobya DC12-400 and in with the D5 and a Koolance top still using the same res mounting it by recycling some cpu mounts and rubber fan spacers
1471220_3661829561596_415039187_n.jpg

changing hose size mean changing all the fitting I went with these by Feser
thought they would go well with all the wrap in there
tfcf11234.jpg

Now for the advice request
I've turned the top rad round, it was fed on the left from cpu and the link pipe between it and the front rad hidden behind the top rad out of sight againt the mb tray
with the larger hose it won't go there hence turning rad round
now the link between them is short and hidden and the return to the res I'm happy with

1470358_3661829961606_1953305967_n.jpg

but this cpu to rad hose I'm not sure about but I dont know how else to do it

any suggestions please

dont worry about between the gpu's got one of these on order

so can anyone help with the cpu hose or have I been on this forum too long and over thinking it :)

Not a fan of all the carbon fiber wrap but the complete picture looks pretty good!

So much better than that 500R build at first ;)

I think someone rolled over your fittings with a car mate. I would return them!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Are those the new TFC fittings ? If so, how is the build quality ?

Thanks Feronix , looking back at that first build it was a bit crap to say the least.
I've learnt a little since then.

There retreads :)
No they are Feser fittings from specialtech

having put my glasses on yes they are the TFC fittings made by Feser :)

had a go at cable lacing thanks to alpenwasser video

the gpu link arrived sorted the drain tap
coolant is in bled and leak tested
wasn't sure what to do with the drain tap so I made a bracket to hold it in one of the grommet hole at back

cabling done right!

one question/suggestion, will you be fixing the pci-e power cables going in the bottom false floor, I mean lacing that part and making it all look super tidy?

wonder how long before someone mentioned that :)
bought 10m of that wax cotton and ran out
got some more on the way from my mate ebay

Never seen cable lacing before, looks amazing. Colour contrast, is subtle but the overall effect is sweet. I'm not a great fan of carbon wraps but you have done a great job, real labour of love. You can be proud of your creation. My rig looks like a complete mess in comparison.
