PlayStation VR2's Headset Specifications are Insane

These might just make me buy a PS5 :D

Good luck getting one.

I even see reports about thefts at Amazon, staff are replacing the contents of the boxes with random stuff and shipping them out to customers then keeping the units for themselves

Currently im not interested in getting one. My xbox hasnt been turned on since last xmas. PS5 would end up the same pretty quick i think.

Well the link is there for anyone to use.

I'm glad I've got mine. Really enjoyed playing a lot of my existing games with a 60 FPS update and come Feb 18th I will being going into a Forbidden West coma :D

As a VR fan I'm really excited about this. The specs look good and foveated rendering should help produce really good graphics.

I'm glad I bought a PS5 for my son even though what he really wanted was a new PC. Sure it was a scalped price, but still cheaper than a mid-range GPU.

Specs are nice but the FoV is still too low, Looking forward to the day we get HMD's from Valve, Meta etc... with an FoV at least 150', Anything less and it's like looking through scuba goggles.

I know there are shortages but most shops get stock at least once a week at the moment.

I'd recommend following https://twitter.com/PS5StockAlertUK?s=20 as I got mine first time using their alerts.

I used the same thing to get my PS5. It make getting the console much easier.

TBH, one thing that I would love to see is Sony supporting their headset on PC. Would ramp the volumes up a lot and give us another option outside of Meta/Facebook. As good as the Quest 2 is for its price, I don't like the direction they are taking things.

I'll be honest i can understand getting a PS5 to play at a later date but personally a new machine needs game support not just 60fps upgrades to me it's pointless as there are so few decent games on it atm. As for the headset it'll get some games in time but i'd much rather all companies involved quit trying to chop up the market and allow VR be a platform as a whole and all VR games come out on all VR headsets cause until they do it's killing it.

I own a Rift S loved HL ALyx need far more games of that standard while there are some good ones there are not enough stella ones.

Profit rules too often and hurts the customer, be it valve, meh meta, sony or anyone else in VR all the exclusives kill it as a whole and longterm it'll change as it has too in order to fully be successful.

Exactly, Maybe give each HMD/platform a timed exclusive, Make it short though, But release for all VR platforms.

Right now if you want to experience general VR, Without too many software issues, You'd have to get 3 x HMD's, A PC HMD like the Index, Vive Pro 2, Reverb G2 etc... and then an Oculus Q2 and PSVR2.

That's already fragmenting the market too much as each PC HMD generally has its own software ecosystem which complicates things even further.

Quest 2 covers standalone and PC gaming pretty well. It's not perfect but you don't really need something else.

PSVR will get you exclusives, but that's analogous to claiming that in order to experience gaming in general you need to buy a PS5.
