I remember when the PC version was really bad on AMD cpus (mainly due to the lack of multithreading). I remember the frame drops on my ol' i3 550 and 7870 as well.
Not surprised the consoles can run the graphics on 'ultra' as its not that intensive in the GPU department at all.

It is quite funny this, they said a year ago that the PS4 version was going to help with the PC version because of the PS4 CPU being really good for the game. They also said that the coding for the multicore optimization of the PS4 version would be directly implemented into the PC version.

The PS4 version was supposed to come out last December, so there have obviously been problems with getting it working. They still haven't got the PC version running properly and there are still loads of problems. Most of the original dev team has left PS2 now and moved on to other SoE games, the devs it has now aren't releasing many updates and the game isn't supported as much as it was.

Planetside 2 has *always* been a bag of shit on CPU optimisation, absolutely crap performance last time I even took a look at it. it's horendous

I honestly didn't have a problem with Planetside on my 8320, even in massive battles. Have they undone their optimisation since I've played it?

No clue, I only played it when it first came out on the PC and a dev was on the forums and told everyone what line to edit to turn it on ingame

Fair point tbh, the only real exclusive game which isn't anymore is MGS. Apart from that you can get them on PC with better graphics. Its just sport games really, like I got UFC and played it err...once.

Well there's only really Drive Club, LBP, Uncharted, The Last Of Us, Killzone and a few other sports and driving ones and none really grab me by the nadgers and say "You must play me" ^_^
