Plain and simple..Best budget gaming hard drive?

It's very hard to recommend somebody pay £30 or so for a 160g drive, when places like Aria PC are selling 500g for 30 something.

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/320-...inpoint-F1-SATA-300-7200-rpm-16MB-Cache-89-ms - £38, so a bit over £30, but you are getting 320Gb. 160Gb was nice 4 years ago now, but these days doesn't get you much, £5 gets you double, plus Samsungs in my experience are (4/5...) very good and very quiet!

And if you somehow manage to make one collapse... there customer service is excelent, I had a new one with me in 4 days after sending it away which is ALOT faster than some places I have RMA'ed. That is where my 2 cents goes

Mid £36 plus £8 or so postage, will get u a Western Digital 16mb 250g at either Scan (try the Today section for WD today) or eBuyer.

You can get free P&P at scan if you are on a certain forum, wHo's namE i eXpect can't be mUttered here Sorry. :D

Just noticed the replies, you know how long that took me to come up with??

So what did he go for in the end?

haha yeh lol

i just pointed him at scan or ebuyer and said get which ever one you can afford made by samsung, wd or hitachi really.

Bit-tech and AVForums also do free Scan pnp and at least they're not idiots

Are you saying Hexus are idiots?

tbh, I don't really like the 50 posts, all the setting up with your config and have to spend over £20 to class for it.

Whereas, I bought a braiding kit from WCUK, used the OC3D free shipping voucher :). Kit was like £6 and next day postage was £8 but I got that for free :p

Did Bit-Tech not drop the free shipping? Hexus was easy enough, sign up, and done. Pitty OC3D can't get something similar withanother retail, WCUK rocks, but they don't really do components sadly

I'm hoping to get enough posts to qualify for some 10% off goodness at WCUK :P

Thinking about buying some bigger and better WC gear some point in the near future, so want to have the best pricing options available, and 10% and free shipping at WCUK looks to be unbeatable
