PhysX starting to piss me off!!

For starters I cannot play Metro 2033 because of a physx.dll error. And I cannot play ANY physX based games without crash nor run physX based apps. I have re installed the latest non beta drivers from Nvidia and have TRIED uninstalling the PhysX 9.12.0213 driver (the latest) I keep clicking uninstall and nothing is happening. Driver sweeper does no good. NEXT I tried reinstalling the same driver but all i get is a file path error.

The last time I have had this problem the ONLY solution was to do a clean install of Windows. Is there any way I can get this to work without doing this. BTW I have had this problem going all the way back to my GTX2xx days.

I use a GTX680.

Have you done a manual uninstall of all Nvidia component drivers via Control Panel, rebooting, running Driver Sweeper and then reinstalling the latest driver?

I FIXED IT!!

And guess fixed it?!

It was the microsoft fixit program that you can download. Took like 4 minutes and I can now play Metro 2033. Have not tried Bman yet but ready too!

I was going to say to go to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\metro 2033\install

Click on the Physx file, it will open and uninstalled itself.

Then install the file again.

I was just using a bunch of program I had on a flash drive that I use to fix clients computers.

Also batman now works.

Yea. The Windows uninstaller only uninstalled part of it but enough to were it could not uninstall again and to were it could not be installed again. The Fixit went through the registry and got rid of all the old physX files that were needed for the deletion to be complete.

Oh I found it. It was a beta download but it's closed now.

Ah I didn't need it anyway I just thought it would be nice in the future if I have any issues.

You just click "run Now" and it will download a .exe that you run.

You click run now on the problem you are having through Fix-it and it will give you a program that will fix your problem.
