physX cards

hey there just wondering if the agia PPU's are still avlble to buy to be used as a dedicated physX proccesser as ime using a 4890 and dont have windows 7 to get one of them may be the best option.

You can still buy them used, not new anymore as they aren't produced. GeForce cards perform better though iirc.

I got one. I can't justify saying better other than 'it sounds like a good idea if a 8600/8800 is doing it'.

Got no figures to confirm it.

Probably a decent ati companion tho, using the supplied drivers or pre nvidia. U can get them cheap ~£30 if u look hard enough, nothing like the £120+ they rrpd at.

well i have a 4890 (1Ghz core/990mem) so that should hold out,nooo paying £120 would be abit steep,£30 is about right.

how much would you be looking for Kempz,and were could i get the pre nvid drivers,not after one just yet still waitin for my studen loans

Don't use it atm m8, I did do a test of using it with a gtx280 and found little point.

I do honestly think, even tho I think I'm pished, that physx processing doesn't take all that much.

Would probably recommend trying with ati tho, as I said. Think I got the same one Kemp is offering.

You'll need an older driver set and the physx drivers

depends on how much you want to spend I suppose

*think* u can get an nvidia version that is just b4 they integrated with the regular drivers.

That or the supplied drivers with the card should be ok.

And ofc there is the wealth of the internet to find the most up2d8 version of those.

Either of those options *should* have no checking for poisonous AMD cards.
