Hahaha not so true,

Ebay does not negate quality. I only buy new/unused compressors as well as proper run and start up components. Flex lines I only buy corrugated steel hoses, and often braided ones at that. As for evaps I now have a supply of quite cheap ($30/unit) for milled evaporators. And I use either Jinu condensers, cube condensres, or custom modified ones.

EDIT: The only thing I don't have is nice steel cases

Zero to small. Enless your idea of a 'normal' case is V2000 size.

I'm working out some options for either a small 1/5hp quiet unit (fairly small, fittable in most cases) and a more powerful rotary benching solution (1/4-1/2hp) bigger condenser, other options, but larger and possibly louder.

EDIT to Ham: The 1/5hp small solution would be nearly identical to the single stage project that was for myself (and is now waiting on its lineset to be repair, but I may just put one of my new evaps on it and be done). I probably wouldnt use a cube condenser (their rare) but a Jinu ($45 ). V2000? Easy, Stacker? A bit harder...

Ive just acquired a Stacker Case. Along with a Danfoss TLG4 (~1/8IHP r134a) Compressor "thanks to a dumped Fridge" which is nice and small.

Might have to see how it looks inside the case when i get home this weekend. Al tho for my first built ill get it setup on the bench before/IF she fits inside.

Yeah but I can definetly make a really small singlestage. My own 1/5hp unit if I put on a jinu condeser would be tiny.
