Phanteks responds to Lian Li’s lawsuit

I bet LianLi want to corner the market like Asetek did with coldplate mounted pumps for AIO's which has massively stagnated the market.

Patent law needs a massive overhaul as in the PC space there's only so many ways you can do things.

How can something be an original idea when its just a legal variation of a product that already exists today?

Its like making an electric car for the High performance market and calling it an original idea.

Yeah, I mean, that's exactly what's happening here, indeed Lian-li came up with an original idea and both Phanteks and Thermaltake copied it, and in a way I do understand that there should be protection against people just copying and profiting off of other people's and companies ideas but that's also what creates monopolies, makes things expensive, and just blows up rich people's pockets way out of proportion. The pharmaceutical industry is the best example of that. I honestly think we are lucky whenever there are ways of achieving the same end result in a slightly different manner that goes bellow the patent laws and allows more companies to enter the market and create competition, that ultimately benefits the consumer while still allowing for profits to be made and that's honestly how everything should be. And with that said, I really hope Lian-li loses these lawsuits, because I want competition in here. But also, these are just pretty computer fans, If we were to change anything about laws for these things I'd prioritize the pharmaceutical market because it actually really matters as opposed to the pretty DIY PC cooling market that is just a gimmick for spoiled brats like us.
