Humor is always relative, I personally really liked some of his early Happy wheels stuff, before he became super famous.
One time I looked up the old video from when I watched it in my first year of Uni and I was super surprised that the guy turned out to be PewDiePie.
I'm not a fan of him now, but I can see why people do like his content. Everyone is different afterall.

I'll admit I had a similar think with Markiplier, I watched him fairly early on but I can't stand any of his stuff now at all. They all say they won't change, and they'll remain true to what they are but that's just impossible. to stay relevant/popular they have to change. it's just the way it is. Nothing good lasts forever.

Each to their own. We have a massive amount online generalising us as "nerds" "no lifers" or whatever based on the fact we game, frequently post in forums etc. I don't think it really matters what the mental state of his fans are.
End of the story, is he is making millions from his so called "silly" videos, and we are not. If you find a nìche in life and can take advantage of it, then why the hell not!
