PCIe 4.0 might launch in 2017

The next generation of PCIe may not launch until 2017. The next generation of PCIe will feature 16GT/s and an all new connector.

I wonder if they made any improvements at all(if they can) with multi GPUs using the bridge as a Crossfire or SLI connection and were able to get latency down or something along those lines. AMD is the only one using it currently with XDMA but if they are able to get latency down it should help not only with frametimes but VR as well.

Hm, well this is good for servers/ people using pcie to run either crazy volumes of HDD or do seriously beefy number crunching, but most of the market won't see an difference.
