PCI Express 3.0

Freakin retarded tbh. We dont even get close to using the full potential bandwidth of 2.0. You dont need a new slot to hammer more watts into a card. You need bigger PSUs.

Agreed - retarded.

I for one thought that advances in tech should bring smaller scale integration along with them, hand in hand.

By my reckoning, new cards should be smaller.

We're gonna have bloody external GFX cards soon or just taking up their own lil case.

Hah.

Mock my drawing skills evil people. :D

EDIT - My own personal opinion - There is way too much crap being released. I say they stop and chill out for a couple of months atleast giving some people time to save some money.

Why do they think we need PCI Express 3.0 when CPU's can barely keep up with PCI Express 2.0 GPUS and not only that but the current PCI Express GPU's are barely using the PCI express 2 bandwidth. At the moment GPU's are just about using a little over PCI Express 1.0 bandwidth if they are even using that much power. This technology is being released way too soon Unless ATI or Nvidia are planning on releasing a new set of GPU's that use at least 50 - 75% of the current PCI Express 2.0 bandwidth.

Well, if I`m honest, I`d prefer them to push for PCI4/5/6 and so on and get it implemented asap as they do it.

I`d rather not be in a situation where a pci card has an excuse of being held back by a slot.

In these instances we should then shout at gfxcard manufs for riding a push-bike on the motorway/highway.
