Well cant say for sure as there are a bunch of low probability things it could be. But if you read the Newegg reviews on this mb many have had problems with it. I would say its extremely likely, if everything posted has been well tested, that it is certainly mb or v-card. if it was me I would bite the bullet, rma the mb and describe the problem as intermittent. Can you come up with a test that will make it crash every time? That will make the rma easier for the techs to test then verify the problem and send you a replacement. Otherwise they might say they see nothing wrong with it and your back at square one.
If asus would not replace it I would consider buying a new mb and trying that. if your problems vanish you know it was the mb if not then return the mb for a refund and send the card back again for rma. I wish I had a cheaper/free solution for you but unless you can prove your problem to asus they will not replace the board.
p.s. when you reseat the cpu check really well for bent pins. If you find any your warranty will not cover it so its up to you to fix or replace the mb. a mechanical pencil without the lead works well for that.
