PC Modder brings Raytracing to DOOM 2016 with "Photorealistic" effects

Why Nvidia didn't work with developers to utilise RTX on older games is nuts. It's the perfect showcase for RTX, breathing life into old titles, and minimising performance hits.

You get to see the old, and remember how it looked.
Then BOOM, this is how it can look now.

Quake 2 looks amazing.
Minecraft, nothing short of stunning.
Then there's old Doom

According to 99% of the comments on YouTube it's not raytraced (the banned Doom).

Yeah, IIRC this was completely faked. DOOM isn't true 3D game, so a raytracing rework like Quake II RTX isn't really possible.

DOOM would need to be recreated in another engine for RTX/raytracing to be added, which isn't a simple process. The linked video looks like a DOOM remake with PBR materials.
