Payrise! W00t!

Good news lads! (and lasses if there are any!)

My boss has set me a challenge to get something sorted in 2 months. If I am successful then I get... ANOTHER PAY RISE! 8 weeks, only 40 working days. I better get a move on!

Come on ma son! :D

You guys must get way more wages than me in a year lol... and thats after taking on an IT role at work only and having a £6k payrise lol.

I dont know, I do alright at the moment but it has taken me 20 year to get here.

Alot of sweat, thankfully not much blood and only a few tears.

So, just out of curiosity, how much do you guys earn in one year, cuz it seems to me that your payrises are enormous! I make about 36k a year, and that's more than many highly educated people earn.

A little more than you if you are talking pounds, alot more if you are in dollars :p Just realised you are from norway, so I guess you mean pounds.

How long have you been in your job?

I'm on about £2400 a year xD

Not bad for 2 days a week part time student 16 y/o lmao

spend it quickly tho..

I earn £28k been doing it since October. Not bad for being 23... Unfortunately moved out of home at 18 so have bills to pay which is about £1100 a month... oh the joy lol.

Hey, I know exactly what you mean, I'm 23 and I moved out when I was 19, bought my own place. Sold it last year and bought a new one, but still, bills keep piling up. :P I've got about £900 in rent/mortgage, and maybe around £5-600 in other bills.

There`s also a balance between liking your work and cash tbh.

I wouldn`t go back to my last job for double what I`m getting now, similarly I`d do this job for what I used to get paid :p lol

I aint saying what I get, cos erm well other people read forums ^.~ but I don`t get £41k, but by the fashion I`m taxed and with less billage, I`ll take it :)

Just hope your boss isn't reading neither, :p as he may stop all future rises, but then again he will know you are worth it.

There is a valid point to be taken from these posts though. You earn then you pay for what you have to - as I said earlier its all relevant. Sometimes I wish I was 16 earning next to nothing with no worries.

Other times I am glad when I provide for the family and still save at the same time as well as having hobbies and holidays no debt etc. Find the balance and life is sweet.

I know what you mean, Rast, and I really love my job now, working as a courier (beating the crap out of PC-components before delivery), and the pay is actually better than my previous jobs as manager and department manager. :)

I hate my job, I would move to a lower paid one that i enjoyed if i could find one :)

But i guess my work is ok, free training when i want it on most computer subjects.

All I will say is some people on here earn more than me, some less :p

I don't have a family, I change my gf about as often as my hardware so my only financial commitments are my rent and associated bills which aren't that much (the climate isn't right to buy and I get an awesome deal renting!) therefore most of my income is disposable.

I don't dislike what I do but I preferred being a PM so if the opportunity arose to get back into that field I'd take it. I'm toying with b2b tech sales as a few peeps I know in that area make more money than I'd know what to do with lol.

I do agree you need to enjoy what you do, sometimes you need to endure a role you don't necessarily enjoy in order to progress into a role you do want to do!

BUSTED !

See, I knew they did it on purpose !

hehe ;)

Bet sneaking "u weren`t home" cards in the door, whilst they ARE in the house, is an achievement too !

lol

You get £36,000 a year being a courier!

Also, Rast, I'm in Oslo next week, I'll look up Phoenix and slap him around a bit for beating up components! :p
