Passed my driving test :D

Advance drivers course? Dude, how many are there? We've got one course, and that's it. After that, you're on your own. :P Btw, what are the fuelprices like in the UK? Here we pay about £1,35 per litre. It's just a tad too expensive, imo. ;)

Apply for an advance drivers course straight away if you can - your insurance will drop and you get to learn how to control skids like the STIG! :p

its *about* 1.07 a litere for petrol, and 1.11 for diesel here

aproxamatly that is..

I was like that to begin with.. My parents really egged me on though and im glad they did now.

Even if you dont like driving, you don't have to drive. It's just somethng useful to have, just in case, an all taht.

yeah, at first, i didnt take much interest in it either...

but after a while, you realise what a....fun...experience it is :D
 
ayee take pass plus, drops insurance bills.. Im taking my test in the next month and a bit i think.. Then im doing pass plus..

Then i steal my mothers Nissan almera 1.4... God its slow. My instuctors mini cooper is alot more responsive on hills, and getting off at roundabouts
 
Try having a 1.1 liter Rover 200 as a backup / mums car for the past 4 years... I'm yearning for some more power!

I did my pass-plus. didnt really teach me anything i didnt already know, just gave me a bit more confidence when it came to motorways and bigger roads.

lol, i actually get to drive around in a car more powerful than the one i learnt in, so i'm lucky :D

it feels weird being able to drive without the L plates ...

my gran wont let me drive the car on my own yet

but i wouldnt trust myself with somthing worth 7 grand either, let alone her trusting me with it :p rofl
 
But the whole funnnnn of passing your test is to drive alone.. You've been learning long enough you'll be fine on the roadssssss
 
Luckily for me ma older bro been teaching me how 2 drive since 12 yrs old.

Have to wait another year until I can pass (All coz of being 16)

The way my brother taught me is the joy riding method, so will have to take them lessons b4 I'm actually allowed on the road
 
tbh pass plus is not really worth it,as not all insurance companys accept it,the ones that do are the ones with the silly high quotes to begin with

i dunno, you still know car control, and that definatly helps, its just the rules, and the un-written rules of the road that you need to learn and you'll be okay :)

direct line accept it, and they only charged 1700 quid for a year, with my gran as the driver, with 54 years of no claims, and me as a named driver on a car worth 7k lol
 
Sweet Mary mother of jehosefat!

My Dad had a brand spanking new Hyundai Coupe 2.0LTR SE (worth about £15k+) and it cost him £200 extra to put me on, wth company are you putting that on :eek:

before, my gran was insured, fully comp, on this car, worth 7 grand, for 15 quid a month, with 54 years of no claims, covered for everything from legal protection to whatever...

she wanted to add me on, but cornhill direct said no lol

nobody under 21 could go on their polocies

so we went to direct line

they did a polocy with her as driver, and me as named driver

came out as 140 a month ish

or 1700 quid for the year

so she pulled 1700 quid out of god knows where, and paid it :D

when i was 17, it would have been 4200

but because i am now 18, its dropped madly, and i can see no reasonable reason for this as i am just as reckless now i am 18 as i was when i was 17 :p
