If it ends up being how it is now with these new cards.. it ends up being consumers who heed to open there eyes rather than leave it up to AMD. Most people just completely ignore them because they are introduced to Nvidia from the start or people still say they have bad drivers when you look at it and see Nvidia has had far more problems in the past months than AMD.

But yes, AMD need to wow just enough to get some attention, if they release first(drivers at launch too) then it should help them out in the beginning. They just need to overshadow Nvidia from a press release standpoint and make it all about them rather than letting Nvidia get the attention. They gotta play dirty if they want to stay in business..
 
After having the GTX 970 Strix which got sent back due to principal and low and behold I still love my 290X Vapor X. I wouldn't even want to sell it when I upgrade :)
 
I'm keen to see what AMD bring. I think I'll wait until the 1080Ti and the Polaris equivalent are out. If I stick to multiple monitors it's going to be AMD - it's a no brainer they're just a lot more flexible with mixing and matching displays.

Fun times ahead - Can't wait to see some benches!

That is not going it happen your just dreaming with that one.

Plus people are going to buy what they like and people like Nvidia more than AMD it's just the way it is atm.

The only way AMD is going to get close to Nvidia is to come out with a card that beats Nvidia and atm i just can't see that happening, AMD has done this to themselves you can't blame the people if AMD keeps coming out with below par GPU's.

Not dreaming it's the truth. I did however say it won't happen and gave a couple reasons why if you keep reading...

Also, what you said proves my point, people already think Nvidia are by default superior. When they are not. You can't make a definitive choice between any comparable card. The only time Nvidia clearly win is with the 980ti. Everything else, is either just as powerful or slower than there competition, but has less memory and more expensive. This ranges true from the bottom to the top. In some cases, the very bottom, AMD are just ahead plain and simple. But again, like we both agree, people just like nvidia better, so it doesn't matter.

Yes with the lower end cards AMD are in front but it will not changes most peoples minds and that's the problem IMO it will not make any difference with AMD does cause most people have all ready made up there minds most people will stick with Nvidia i guess cause they trust Nvidia more.

I just had better luck when it comes to Nvidia cards over AMD.

I blame the card markers (ASUS, Gigabyte & MSI) when they just use the same cooler for both types of cards when IMO they should make a different cooler cause as we all know that AMD cards run hotter than Nvidia.
 
The Sapphire AMD cards are just awesome though fella I still have a HD7770 in Mrs Tolemacs rig and thats nearly 5 years old but still goes strong and my R9 290X Vapor x never goes above 72C when gaming

Yep that's cause Sapphire only makes AMD cards, I have a rule now for when i'm buying a GPU i only buy a GPU from a company who only makes one brand of card.

It was only Asus who did that. Looking at MSI you could easily tell it was custom built for the cards.. especially since it was a custom PCB like the 390 series were. The best coolers, MSI/XFX/Sapphire run just as hot as any Nvidia card.

Nope my EVGA card runs cooler than my 390 when i had it even when i'm playing games the 390 would run 10c hotter.
