Painting rubber ? How ?

I'm masterminding a build that may need grommets painted.
Anyone ever tried painting rubber ? How ? I'm pretty certain that traditional approach and materials wouldnt work here...
 
You need a latex based paint that will bend without cracking. It shouldn't be too hard. IIRC the later vinyl silk paints you paint your walls with are latex based.
 
You could just spray them, but you'll want to use a suitable adhesion promoter first and add a flex additive. It would likely be much cheaper if you can find something specifically designed for rubber.
 
You can buy liquid latex from tile shops , they use it to add to the tile adhesive when applying tiles onto wood . I use it for reptile vivariums as a background mixed with tile adhesive .
 
Any method will do as long as i can turn black into red and it wouldn't crack upon intended use as a cable management device...
