I had my w/c kit installed and everything working nicely, so I thought I'd have a little shot a OC'n.
I'd had my e6600 at 2.6 on air. I'd read some on OC'n and was only making small incremental increases.
First I tried 300*9 = 2.7 - fine.
Then 310*9 = 2.79 - fine.
Then 320*9 = 2.88 - fine.
I may have skipped 330*9 = 2.97 - and gone to 340*9 = 3.06 - it was at this point things went wrong around the 330/340.
The pc wouldn't start - no monitor signal/keyboard. This had hapened before so I was not too worried - just reset the CMOS and start again.
What do you do when a CMOS reset doesn't work? I'm worried now.
When I power up the monitor stays on the amber light as if the gfx card is not working, but the wireless receiver for keyboard/mouse is not lighting up either, or my linksys for my wireless network (both of these are connected to the usb at the back).
It's like the pci-e slot and the usb's have died. There are no error beeps at the start and as I have no monitor I cant actually tell what is happening!
Everything else seems to be on. I checked all connections, no loose connections.
Help!
