Overkill????

In a month I'm getting a 2600k and I am having a hard time deciding on a cooling option.....

I saw TTL's review on the XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 and I really, really like the look of that setup (I also have a haf x) but he was using it on a 1366 chip, which get much hotter when OC compared to the 1155 chips...

So my question is if that RS360 will be overkill for OCing a 2600k?

If you all agree that it's overkill and purely on for looks, I'll be going with the D-14 (but I still would like to know if the RS360 will allow me to get a higher clock/Lower temps)

bro there is no such thing as overkill when cooling a cpu. Hell look at Tom's dice endeavors now thats for short term benching but would ya call it overkill? lol I used to run -35c on my AMD64 3200 rig back in the day lol I didnt think it overkill.

Id choose water cooling over air all the time unless you are dismounting your sistem every week it gets a little bit annoying. You will get higher OCs and with some good fans a silent rig.

The rs360 kit will fit perfect in the haf-x and lower temps is always good.

If you have the money then why not? overkill is a good thing, in this situation anyway.

Just think of it like this, the D14 will do but water cooling will do it better

Lol, thanks for the replies. I understand where u are coming from, the only reason I asked is because when ttl was using the dry ice, I suggested he used any left over with a SB chip, and he said that u can max those chips on air, so it was a waste of DICE.

So I was asking because if I would get the same clock with the d-14 and the rs360, I would save the money, but if I where to see an improvement in temps/clocks then WC is the way to go (because I personally think it just looks too good

EDIT : i just wanted to add something, i saw the new review on OC3D of the fully built system for aria and that is a good example of what i meant about overkill, that system had a dark rock pro, and OC to 4.7GHz with 1.4 volts i believe, and the temps were in the 50's... so with a D-14 they would probably be a few degrees less. But some people say for a 24/7 OC you should really push 1.5+ volts on a SB chip. therefore what i'm try to learn here is if anyone has got a SB chip under water cooling and the clocks/volts/temps they are getting vs. the clock/volts/temps they were getting on air.

i got a question about the power constumption of a WC setup.

I have a 650watt PSU and was wondering if i OC a 2600k and a gtx570, will i my PSU handle WC? because i would like to use fans with leds, so 6 extra fans on the rad, and in my case i'd have 2x200mm and 1x140mm fans (i'm not sure how much power the pump form the rasa kit uses, and if having all those fans would make a difference)
