Ok i got a new PC have had it for a few months and now i want to overclock, i know most of the basics but i need experts to make sure all the settings are correct...

My parts first

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600

Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 Intel X38

Point of View GeForce 8800 GT 512MB

GeIL 2GB

dont think you need the rest but say if you do.

ok basically these are the steps that i have so far

CPU Host Clock Control - Enable

CPU Host Frequency(Mhz) - 266 to 333

PCI Express Frequency(Mhz) - Auto to 100hz

System Memory Multiplier - 2.40 = needs to be 800x800

System Voltage Control - Manual

then the last thing

CPU Voltage Control - 1.2750

i really need to overclock guys please tell me what else i need to do or what im doing wrong already.

Thanks

wow nobody knows about this??? am i on the wrong forum? or do people just dont want to help me in general...?

i have Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

i tried doing all that and my pc just keeps restarting i then upped the voltage to 1.3 but still kept restarting what am i doing wrong?

That's called a double boot... ;)

Right, I can't see why it won't boot at 1.3v, that should be enough to power it! You could push it up to 1.4v just to see if it'll boot but it might get quite warm.. so be warned, though it should be fine.

or it's because you posted it at a very off peak time, so to speak, and so some people may not have seen it.

Anyway, as said, it's quite weird that it wont boot. I would be hesitant trying a higher voltage, I would look at the RAM next as previously said.

I had stupid voltage change boot stuff with my P5 mobo. Never fixed it either so I went to a striker instead and never had it again. New BIOS should have fixed it for me so perhaps it will help your situation.

I had my q6600 under a ACFP7 for about 4 months and manage to get 3.6 outta it for with 1.42 but its dodgy territory after 1.4 really.
