overclocking adventure

hi.

going to do some overclocking today and aiming for 2.4-2.5ghz with a 3200+ winchester but wonder.

how high can temps go and how far can i push vcore and still be on the more safe side ?

need around 1.5v for 2.4ghz and hit around 55 celsius last time i tried but have a 120mm fan on the side now and the rear fan pushes air towards the cpu too.

got a zalman 7000b alcu heatsink.

Regards

Sensors are usually report a bit low... I'd say ur prolly running 40-42 in actuality just for a base number.

You have a bit of room to bump the voltage, but as Nick said I wouldn't take my proc any higher than 50c.

How old is the Winnie? What week/stepping? If it's anything like my old super winnie it'll clock like a beast :D

dont know what week but it was most likely one of the first 2000 sold in my country, most stores didnt even had them on their homepage when i bought it.

Hrmmm, I really need the whole string off of the proccy's IHS to properly evaluate what kind of clocker it will be.

How long ago was it purchased?

nice links you found there :)

I got a CBBFD it's a 0433SPMW and it does great! prime stable at 2.55ghz 1.4v. I dont know about yours but try it out and see!

but can say right away this is for example not possible with the cpu i have.

but seems vcore can be pushed to 1.55v without to much problem.

249x10 vcore reported by corecenter 1.47v s&m stable 54 celsius.

had it as high as 260x10 s&m stable but 265x10 caused a reboot, memory is only certified to 250.

timings 2.5-4-4-9-1T not to shabby for cheap memory, geil pc4000.

temp just hit 55celsius.

clockgen is configured to automaticly enforce these settings due to a bug in the bios but had to set vcore in bios as clockgen couldnt set it as high as i needed it to be.
