Just had my radiators and tubing turn up and am fuming

I ordered the black tubing, didnt get anything to say it was despatched.

Phoned them and they said they didnt have it in stock (even tho it says on their site it is in stock) no email, no phonecall to me to say this.

So I changed it to uv blue to get it despatched.

Ordered 4meters and they sent 4 1meter lengths of tubing meaning huge waste also their website advertised "Amount ordered = Hose length in meters" phoned them up to query this.

guy on other end: "we only sell it in 1meter lengths"

me: "HOW DO I ORDER 4METERS THEN?" "WHY DOES IT SAY ON YOUR SITE AMOUNT ORDERED = HOSE LENGTH IN METERS"

guy on other end: "hang on I will ask someone"

comes back trying to be clever "why do you want a 4meter length"

me: "I need a length which is 1.5meters in length so will be unable to use this tube"

guy on other end: "I'm sorry we only sell it in 1meter lengths and will tell them about the website being wrong"

me: "so I will have to order this from another website"

guy on other end: "............"

no offer for refund (only £4)

no offer to send out a 2 or 4 meter length to replace it

was forced to order thru them as I wanted the EK radiators and they seem to be the only company who sells them in the UK

Such a shame as they used to be ok when they were a small company, I remember phoning them and getting thru to a person straight away and getting a replacement sent out next day without question.

I worked on phone support and if I talked to people like this guy I would have got fired

PM Gibbo, he's always willing to try and sort out problems as long as he's not too busy.

I've heard too many horror stories about OcUK over the years to try them out, this just exacerbates my view of them.

Sorry to hear that mate. I honestly thought they was getting better these days, but it seems like they still have some of that bad attitude floating around.

I really can't believe they sent you 4x1m lengths of tubing. That really is LOL - but in a bad way!

If that's what they normally do when people order lengths of tubing then I'd guess they'd have loads of queries.

Seems like the guy got caught out and was just on the defence

I've posted a thread on their support section of the forum (have been on the forum before and since the upgrade in 2002) and sent a webnote through now as the guy seemed a bit of an idiot and wasn't polite to me, was the same guy all 3 times I phoned the sales number aswell so seems like they have 1 person on sales.

Had some problems myself with OCUK, send off my router as a RMA for a replacement, 28 days later I received a refund (even though I asked for a replacement)

I think that should be classed as 'luck' rather than a problem

Most people get the broken RMA product back after 28 days

i have only ever used them once and once only they sent me 2 difformed sunbeam CCF the top and bottom fins were bent and twisted on both,the packaging what it came in was mint

anyway you have the recipt so call them back and say you want a refund they cant stop you as you are well within your right as its under 28days.and then just go somewere else

I refuse to buy from OCUK from my own and others bad experiences with them.

A right group of tossers working there imo

Now on the other end of the scale is Scan, i'm really pleased with their service as of late especially free shipping when using a code from a certain av forum

OCUK isnt even the cheapest nowadays either, yet some people swear by them :S

I've had enough bad experiences with OCUK, the best way to do buisness is to do it in person. Sure you lose the distance seller thing (which has bitten me on my butt before), but you gain all sorts of rights as a consumer (i.e. the right to walk in and demand a replacement for a dodgy part there and then). I agree, scan's model is the way to do it, OCUK's service can be awful and their policy of forum policing is a bit excessive really.

lol got a reply on the forum by one of the guys at OcUK

1 quantity = 1 seperate metre as all the tubing arrives to us, pre cut.

Would be very surprised if this was the case

I tend to get hose from WCUK now because all of it arrives in one piece, which is useful if you need to run 2m+ between pcs.

WCUK will be the best bet for most WC kit I think, though I've used OcUK for years now and never had an issue. In fact, they've been brilliant in sorting out RMAs and changing orders for me. I guess there's always bad eggs in the support staff, perhaps they're still hiring some, they should be more discerning.
