Hey Guys,

My system specs are in my sig.

At the moment, I am running my i7 920 at 4Ghz with the 1102 BIOS. My first question is, is this the best BIOS to be using? (Will create a poll)

Okay so I could only find a template of the 1005 BIOS. Could someone please fill in what I should put in under the CPU tab, here is template:

>CPU Configuration

CPU Ratio Setting []

C1E Support []

Hardware Prefetcher []

Adjacent Cache Line Prefetcher []

Intel(R) Virtualiyation Tech []

CPU TM Function []

Execute Disable Bit []

Intel(R) HT Technology []

Active Processor Cores []

A20M []

Intel(R) SpeedStep(TM) Tech []

Intel(R) C-STATE Tech []

C State package limit setting []

Secondly, could somebody explain to me what "ULCK Frequency" and "QPI Link Data Rate" is and what I should set it to.

UCLK Frequency []

QPI Link Data Rate []

Thirdly, please could somebody explain what the settings below do:

CPU Differential Amplitude []

CPU Clock Skew []

IOH Clock Skew []

------------ Extreme Engine Digi+ ------------

Digi+ PWR Mode []

PWR Volt. Control []

Load-Line Calibration []

CPU Voltege OCP []

CPU PWM Frequency []

CPU PLL Voltage [] What part of the CPU does this voltage effect (eg. QPI/DRAM controls IMC of chip I belive)

Do I need to change any of these voltages:

IOH Voltage []

IOH PCIE Voltage []

ICH Voltage []

ICH PCIE Voltage []

And what do these do:

CPU Spread Spectrum []

DRAM Spread Spectrum []

I do understand that this is asking a lot but there is only one way to find out I suppose

I noticed the latest update gave me some extra stability on an X58 Sabertooth. Also I'd recommend not using a template but finding out your hardware's specific settings.

I found out most of those settings definitions by using google. And a little help. I wouldn't mess with ioh or ich voltages. Those are northbridge southbridge volts. Its possible to achieve a good overclock with intel built in tools like c1e and speedstep. But it will take more volts.

There are plenty of I7 tutorials and post on this thread. The best way is to learn yourself what each setting does. And mainly focus on bclk and multi in small steps.

If you just copy someones settings they may not work for you. And you wont learn anything. Take your time and learn your chip.
