Well just wanting to know what you nice people do with your old computer stuff?

Bin it, Display it, put it in the loft or cupboard etc

just looking for ideas as what to do with some stuff, ive got a couple of old GPU's, CPU's and motherboards etc and looking for ideas on displaying them (photos would be great to if possible), i also have my old 2500k computer setup which is soon to be no longer used and not sure if i should build a case to display it in or break it up and display it in parts or how to go about it

I usually sell my old stuff or give it to friends if it is an upgrade over what they currently have. I do have some things on display though.

Really depends on what you want to do and if you have the space for it. A 2500K-based system is still pretty usable these days if you can think of a good use for a secondary system.

Anything that is worth anything gets sold. Anything worth little gets given to friends and anything stand out (like Corsair's original Dominator) gets chucked in the keep sake box.

well i did a garage conversion over last winter and ended up with a bit of a display cabinet in there, its not very deep so ideal for small cars and pc parts

I used my old 2500k as my sons pc, his athlon 6300 system went to my brother

maybe ill just have to semi retire the 2500k and use it in the bedroom.

hmm hows bigs the box lol. the original dominators were the black and blue ones right?

A functioning motherboard for Sandy Bridge can sell for a decent amount of money since they're old enough to blow up! CPU probably not so much.

Sell or give away, either is good. I'm more charitable so I don't mind giving people a leg up if I have what they genuinely need going spare, boxes I do like to keep on display along with some classic hardware I have a fondness for like my HD6790 (saw me through some tough times) and my GTS8800 which was a beast back in its day.

If its still realtively useful, I sell it to friends and family first, but usually it goes to a stranger. If it's so old it and isn't much use, I'll hold on to it in storage as a spare part incase I need to diagnose something later on. I have an old PSU I use for such a thing.

Sell or Give away.

I have always thought keeping old pc hardware on display a little... too much. Different when you want a back drop for reviewing products or have some video channel, but to do it at home is a tad "weird" to me.
