Opinions Please. 1440p gaming upgrade or not

I am currently gaming on a 1440p 165hz GSync panel with a Asus gtx 1070 Strix OC and i have some upgrade money I am playing fairly recent games and have no plans to go to 4k.

My options are, I keep the card I have and live with it until the next generation or
sell the card I have and buy a gtx 1080 or a gtx 1080ti.

I could also get a second strix 1070 which are now a lot cheaper for SLI.

I would be grateful for your opinions

Personally i would stay away from sli and just get a 1080ti, less issues, heat, power and 1 1080ti is prettymuch perfect for 1440p

I would say look at what games you are playing there are some very good 1080 deals out there atm which only cost a little more than what you probably paid for your 1070 "just my 2 cents worth"

At the moment I think this is where I am closest too. I can pick up a 1080 for about another 80 pounds after selling the 1070. I could always pickup a cheap 1080ti when the next gen drops or save more money for the next generation.

With the cash back from msi at the moment I can pick up a gaming x 1080 for 460 after rebate

got a gtx 1070 with a 1440p @ 144hz myself, i'm waiting for the gtx 11XX cards before upgrading.

Always go with the most powerful single card that you can afford. In your case 1080 would give you nice bump in performance vs 1070.

I had the option to step-up from 1070 to 1080ti. So it was really a no brainer.

But as Tolemac says, it depends on the games. I wanted Ultra in Wildlands, and my 1070 hybrid wasn't up for the task. Now i have a founders edition, so now i'm looking at custom watercooling

I got the Palit Jetstream for £425 from CCL Computers it's being delivered today by DPD thank god it's not Yodel and hang on to your Mrs thats rare mine would have told me to buy something cheaper
