Onboard audio interference with power saving features, ideas?

I turned power saving features back on and now whenever the CPU isn't under load, there is a hiss on the onboard audio along with static, any ideas as to how to fix this, or why it's happening?

The power saving mode is turning off the onboard sound when it thinks you arent using it. The low state of the sound card is ground when its on so you hear nothing but when its off the ground state is whatever background electrical interference is coming from the rest of the machine, thats what your speakers are trying to play.

If you are using power saving does that mean the machine is a laptop? If that is the case you are going to struggle, the simplest thing would be to give the soundcard something to do all the time. If you have a microphone of any type you could leave that on and turn down the volume for the mike really low using the windows volume controls so you cant hear it but it is still picking something up to keep the soundcard occupied and turned on.

Isolating the onboard soundcard from noise using some kind of shielding will be an absolute nightmare so that would be a last resort. If not u may just have to not using power saving. Hope some of that helped.

Yea, I think I'll have to invest in a sound card sometime soon. But no, I'm not on a laptop, I simply mean features such as c-states in BIOS, thanks for the advice tho, I'll look into trying to isolate the electrical interference
