On AGP?? Scared your GPU options are short?

I agree with XMS, AGP still pushes plenty of hardcore info through, it'll be a while before the PCI-E slots are properly utilised to their full potential.....

:D

Wow....so if I ever decide to toss out my old 6800 Ultra I do have options besides having to replace the mobo and CPU....

I think nVidia decided not to support AGP as they want people to upgrade from AGP buy new mobos....new 'nForce4' mobos.....argh.....

Wirelessly posted (Nextel. Done. |: BlackBerry7520/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

nVidia is also pushing SLI out the roof which is another reason behin their lack of support for AGP.

I think it'll be a LONG time still before the ability of any single video card to be hindered by the bus speed of AGP.

Even with all that said: viva la pci-e!

It's a pretty smart move from ati as this allows them to monopolise the higher end agp market with nvidia having nothing in that area to even touch the x1800s. Unless they decide to bring out they're own 7800 equivilants (even though they stated they wouldnt) which seems likely as they have been counter-acting every move ati make recently.

I cant see agp going past the x1800 series; sli is going to be very important in the future, especially with the unreal 3 engine around the corner.
