odd colored pixels

I have been streaming a few movies today, and every now and again, I will get a small band of different colored pixels on the screen. the band is never very big, and always in a different place. The picture doesn't jump or stutter or any thing else just the colored pixels.

I'm using a 32" lg cinema 3d tv hooked up via HDMi, to a hd 78950. It seems to be getting more and more frequent, all of a sudden. The only change in the last day or two is a new HDMI cable, could this be the cause.

it just happened again, but this time it was basically the whole screen.
Any ideas guys.

could be the card failing, could be drivers, probably not the HDMI cable, but try going back to what you had aswell.

I'd do a fresh install of the video card drivers first though...... see what happens.

Uninstall from Device Manager the Display Adapter drivers, DriverSweeper [ALL AMD].

Reboot, and install the new set from AMD's website.

It's a new gpu only a week old. I did read about it could be the vram over heating, but it is steady at 26 degrees. I will do a fresh install in the morning. Cheers mate.

What's being used to stream the video? And is it only consistent with this program?

If the issue is present with all streaming methods, the graphics card is letting go. Any temps you can share with us? Full load please. (26 can't be full load) Might also be something to do with the PSU, but that's highly unlikely.

Oh wow :o

I thought it was only me that had this issue !

I had a LG 23" 3D monitor (passive, cinema) and had exactly the same issue

I tried DVI as well as HDMI but it still persisted. What was odd was that the monitor was actually on AMD's recommended list for use in 3D with Tridef :o

In the end I got rid of my 7970 as no drivers could fix it..

I tell you what else I used to get too. Basically if I let the PC go to sleep when it woke up the bottom half of the screen would become a black hole. If I dragged a folder down there it would simply disappear.

Sadly nothing fixed the issues for me. I disabled sleep which was annoying as I pop downstairs a lot and was just wasting power but the pixels persisted (glittery coloured squares on the start button and icons).

Right some temps. Heaven, just open and run, gpu max 37, vrm1 max 26, vrm2 max 26
OCCT open and run 30 mins, gpu, max 37, vrm1 26, vrm 2 26

Everything seems ok there.

I've got 2 hooked up, I'll open a movie and run on the 2nd. I can an eye on it whilst eating my lunch.

I have tried the 2nd monitor with a couple of different sources Youtube, and videobam. And no pixels, but the picture looks awful, peoples faces look like they are made of plastic. The picture looks fine with web pages open, but as soon as I open a movie or something it just goes bad really bad. It is hookoed up via dvi.

have been catching up on the Big bang theory, for the last 2 hours, using the 2nd monitor. And so far all is ok, the plastic looking skin issue I'm putting down to a dodgy stream. I'm going to dig out my other HDMI cable and see if it is the problem
