OCZ Technology Introduces Elixir Keyboards

hmmm not so sure about the rubber coated keys. Rubber wears out too quickly imo and if they are only coated in a thin layer it won't be too long before the hard plastic underneath starts showing through.

Wow 30 bucks? Think it might be a replacement to my Fatal1ty. To bad its not lit up.

£32 on SpecialTech - I'm assuming pre-order.

Looks alright though.

edit - is that a full sized enter key, but a small backspace key??

Double size enter keys are good, small backspace buttons aren't. When are they going to get it right!

looks like something from the 80s lol :o

don't think it looks 'special' at all :(

I just looked on the ocz site and the key layout seems a bit strange as certain usefull keys are tiny

be interesting to see how the non slip keys are, but on looks it doesn't seem too brilliant :(

If the keys are the same as the Fatal1ty (Also branded to be "rubber coated") then you dont have to worry about wearing out Jimbo. And on second look this keyboard dosent look to suite me at all. Ill stick with my Fatal1ty :(

Im US and the article says 30 bucks. Sooo 30 bucks for me :D

Post me one? :D

And the only problem with the keys on this board now that i've seen the high-res image, is the backspace key. Why is it only 1 small key!?

Also WTF about the backslash key, what's it doing next to the backspace key!?!

edit - the more i look at it, the more it grows on me. I think i might buy one y'know...

Bleh... The more I look at it the less I like it:

- I don't need the tons of media keys. I'll probably end up accidentally hitting them and getting music instead of trying to shut off my computer

- home/end/pgup/pgdn, why oh why not in a normal layout. I can never find those keys when I need them if they are at a nonstandard place.

- The backspace is too short. All my texts w\\ould loo\\\\k like this\, because I always tap on the left \\\\ corner of my backspace. And beca\use I type \quite fast, I use the backspace quite a lot :P

It varies, but probably in the case of a keyboard, yes.

and Monkey also has a very valid point. Could always somehow stop the \ key from being pressed.

I still think i'm going to enquire into one though.

We kinda guessed the price when we first new about them and it has since changed, much cheaper :D Again not 100% clear yet but expect to pay retail anywhere around £17.99 to £19.99 if OCZ's estimates are correct! (don't hold me to this, it's the 3rd time we've heard of a price change)

5 to 6 weeks away though, so OCZ tell me :(
