OCZ 3.5" Desktop adapter bracket

For reference I am using a Corsair 650D case which has 6 internal 3.5"/2.5 drive cages

3.5"/ 2.5" Cage

I recently purchased a vertex 3 SSD and it came with this mounting device;

Adaptor

Do I need (or have to) use this Adaptor with my 2.5" OCZ SSD? Or can I simply screw the SSD in the cage with the four holes allocated?? I am a little confused as to how I should mount it in.

My Samsung F3 HDD was very easy as it slid in without any problems and the four pegs with white rings held it in place perfectly but seeing as the SSD in 2.5" its too small to fit in the four big screws (with white silicon)

screw it to the cage the adapter is for older style cases that dont come with SSD support. Heck ya could even double sided tape it to the inside of ur case if ya wanted to lol as it has no moving parts like HDD's it can be moved around as wanted while running lol.

Aaah ran into a problem. One of the four screws (with white silicon anti vibration) is protruding out so I can not mount the SSD on to the four holes.

Either its poorly designed or I am missing something here...

The bottom left hand one is blocking the SSD when I try to put it in... any help?
