Oculus Rift to cost "at least $300"

I can't deny that rift is good, finally got to have a play with one at Dreamhack London, it is impressive. However I think it has a very limited appeal, only a handful of game types work well with it. Saying that, I will still buy one, or maybe the HTC Vive for steam. Hopefully get a chance to give the other options a go this weekend at EGX.

Hows it going to work for someone in there 50's like myself that need glasses to see up close. Without glasses I cant even read or see my phone. 300ish seems like a lot of money for something that might not even work at all for me. The idea is cool though.

I'm pretty darn short sighted, it actually worked well for me, but then the screens are merely inches from your eyes. On consumer models there should be diopter adjustment to compensate for vision correction.

I have the opposite problem, and can't see close, so worried that something so close to my eyes will just be a complete blur.

It's not going to be for everyone. I tried an SDK kit at a local store and it was good but you really need to play for a bit before you can decide whether you should buy one.

Some people will get motion sickness and the like or headaches. Occulus would be silly if they didn't make them compatible with a range of glasses but you never know.

I'd just wait till they're out and see what you think of them.

Thumbs up for a veteran like my self! Not quite as pro but I am getting there! :D

As of the price then I still think it s a bit expensive for what it is.

They probably slapped on $50 for the controller. It would be good to have the option of buying just the Oculus. Having said that, the ~$300 price tag seems reasonable for what you're getting.
