Oculus reduces Rift + Touch bundle pricing by £200 in the UK

I'd say the chances of this being the new permanent price point as pretty good.

I just can't see them putting the price back up £200 after 6wks...

Seriously take it from some one who's tried it - don't.

Even with a DK2 the shortcomings are obvious. There's hardly anything worth more than five minutes of your time and anything that is is incredibly short in supply or costs a fortune (£40 for a bird over paris game).

I used my DK2 for about two weeks. I "ooo" and "ahhh"d a few times and that was it. It's been collecting dust for me ever since.

Not only that but Oculus could be in trouble with all of the lawsuits and etc going on. £400 is a massive risk, because if they tank it and the Oculus store goes you will be limited to Steam only. And gaming on a VR headset (unless it's Elite Dangerous) is horrible. The dash and cockpit of a car for example look fantastic. The road ahead and all of the graphics outside the car? it's like 640x480 all over again. It's so poor that I actually felt sick because it was so fuzzy and it gave me an immense headache after about an hour.

Seconded. The problem I find with VR games at the moment is that they're either badly made (In the case of you example with the car simulator) or they have about an hour's worth of playtime. It's the primary reason I won't get a VR headset, the games available just don't make it worth it. Yea Arktika.1 looks brilliant (I'm biased because it's 4A Games making it anyway) but that doesn't warrant the price tag. That and I'd never buy an Oculus anyway

They need to improve the experience a great deal before i'll buy one, in the meantime i'll stick with my Gear VR and watch Virtual Porn

At $400 US ($550 AUD) I'd give it a try. At $1200 Australian which is where the Vive is priced at the moment I'm not going to outlay that without a decent demo. I'm worried about motion sickness etc. Although a lot of people in a sim racing group i'm in comment that the immersion more than makes up for the loss of detail. I do like my eye candy turned up to max though... Maybe next gen.
