Hmmm, I`ve been sceptical of OCuk`s release claims, dates, items, pricing for a while. Almost as if they display an item without having any real lead times or prices, or any solid stock date - if there is one, just to get the orders in the bank. Saying that, from what I`ve heard on the grapevine, the pricing seems about right.

They are terrible for that, theres been a couple of times i've bought something that was listed as being stock, had nothing come through for days, emailed them asking what the deal is only for them to say "yeah, it actually wasn't in stock, we dont have an ETA but we're happy to keep your money nice and safe".....

Now thát seriously reduced my enthusiasm about i7 :/ I was counting on €150 for a mobo, 200 tops. I can forget about that now ><

They'd better make sure the rendering will see the promised performance increases.

I was expecting a higher motherboard price than the CPU, though the fact that all sites have been predicting $280.. £250 is a HUGE mistaken calc.

You gotta remember to factor in the country man. The $284 estimate is for the US, and if you compare other prices, UK has always been damn near double. When I first saw the prices, I was like "wtf?", but then I compared it to the other prices on the site and realized it was actually relatively normal. Also, the $284 is what Intel suggests, it's up to the retailer to charge whatever they want. I wouldn't be surprised to see prices along the lines of $320-350 here in the US.

That is still around £100 cheaper than it is going to be retailing for us here in the UK! I hate this country TBH, taxes are too high.. and they still can't keep our hospitals clean! Bit of a joke really.
