That's right, OC3D members are getting a chance to own Vista at a fraction of the cost of retail! Check out the news article to learn more.

PM me to get in on group buy or post what you'd like to purchase here!

any chance of getting retail copies added into the deal?

oem ones are too limited for me when it comes to hardware changes and transferring to new systems

Nope, this distributor only deals in OEM. And having an OEM version will not affect any of the afformentioned items.

Note that the OEM versions of Windows Vista still forbid license transfers.

Unfortunately OEM copies won't get the same liberties. These installations of Vista will still be restricted to only one transferal or one major upgrade to your machine.

OEM licenses still different

It bears repeating, however, the the OEM license that comes with Vista is indeed similar to the Windows XP OEM license in that it forbids any kind of transfer. As we have previously reported, users have nevertheless had success transferring those copies of Windows, but they are technically stepping outside of the bounds of the EULA when doing so.

I thought we had a HUGE debate on this when MS did a 180 and said that they were now going to let you reinstall an infinite amount of times and make as many hardware changes as you please???

still find is weird that we have been transfering oem license's (xp) for the last 2 years.....

Yeah, I've never once had a problem with it. This sounds more like a scare tactic on MS's part than anything else TBH.

I`m a bit calmer now, I meant how much is it to purchase in UK, through regular channels, as our fellow members can run some kind of comparison.

I have no doubt going through OC3D is going to be a big saving.

have a look at the big online retailers, most of them have them showing up on there site already.

Scan is still showing "CALL FOR PRICE" - which in online retailer terms means, we havent figured out what we`ll get away with charging for it yet, and we`re not posting until some1 else tips their hand first.

Doesn`t matter a flip to me coz I gotta have it thru work at some point, I`m just interested. $ value usally means £ value minus a small amount, if they`re gonna top around £200 for their top one, the first time I see it I`m gonna end up spraying my coffee over the monitor in a splutter.
