OC3D Skyrim Rerelease thread

There is one thing that i'm disappointed with the Special Edition is the damn UI i don't understand why Bethesda couldn't make a PC version surely then would have seen SkyUI.

I guess i will have to wait until a UI comes for it :(

I can't stand the console UI, When your so used to SkyUI

I know what you mean. Even though I use an Xbox One pad almost exclusively I had got so used to SkyUI that when I tried the game out at 1'o'clock this morning I had a genuine "WTF!?" moment when I opened my inventory. Took me a few seconds to remember where everything was.

Let's hope that Skyrim Special Edition Script Extender comes out soon. It will allow SkyUI etc to be ported over to the new Skyrim.

So I thought this was a re-release in that if you bought the game, this was an upgrade..

Not a full price 40 quid SKU, even for existing Skyrim owners?

Yeah, if you owned Skyrim and all the DLC the game is free.

I just seen on the Nexus website that someone has ported over the shell of SkyUI at least it's better than nothing.

Not sure where you got that from but that's completely incorrect i got it as a free upgrade.

Disable g-sync if you have that. That was causing major stuttering for me in fullscreen mode, also it seems the game is using vsync on as default which is really causing its own issues as well. Also if you have a 100+ Hz screen, consider using a fps limiter and set it to 60, unless you want weird physics to happen in game.

Open the SkyrimPrefs.ini file in your documents\mygames\skyrim special edition\ and change iVSyncPresentInterval to 0.

Yup confirmed. G-sync is not working with Skyrim. as soon as I switched it off I had smooth 60fps cap.

Shame this game doesnt support 120hz though :(

It's quite fine though. Just make sure to turn off vsync in the both the driver and the game. I've already gotten used to only playing it with 60 frames. In fact I found out that borderless window works super with Riva Tuner Statictics Server limiting the fps, while still running the desktop in 144 Hz.

Using freesync I get major stutter. Also probably because I am well over 100fps. Probably tonight I'll try to set the driver to a limit if 60fps to see if that helps. This is with vsync off through the menu.

Let the modding begin, now with Ultra Grass!
