OC3D Review Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro Heat Sink

Not as good as I expected it to be tbh. Thanks a lot for the review Tom

I got the same feeling with this vid as I did with the Zalman CNPS 9900 review. At first I was like

then when the mounting system was explained I went to

and then finally when it came to the price and the 10c difference in temps between the Dark Rock and the Noctua/Silver Arrow

.

Like Tom said, it's not a bad cooler but for the price and considering you can get a Noctua for a few pennies more I don't see why people would buy it.

Yes, it's black and would look better in some peoples opinion so it matches the color scheme or whatever, but choosing looks over performance is doing it wrong. That's my two cents anyway.

Quite disappointed by the results. I was expecting it to perform a lot better. At that price point I don't see any reason apart from the black paint, to purchase this over the D14.

Crap for the price, again.

You can get as-good a cooling performance as this with less cash, and look nicer.

If you're pushing £60, you have to do the basic thing. If the price is based on looks and being quiet - best of luck with that one.

Don't know about the award it got.

I was wondering way you never did a review on the coolermaster hyper 212 plus? I know its a small cooler but I have it in my system on a 950 @ 4ghz with 1.27v and I get a delta of between 46 and 48c. That is running every thing the same as you do in your tests. Love the videos, Thanks Sam

Based on many factors really. 50c delta is pretty good and imho its the best looking twin tower around and its not that loud at 12v either. IMHO its The for looks or the D14 for performance. I may be having a play with this in 'the shed' at a later date.....

Good review, Shame about the results. Hoped for better.

Looking at the limitations (size & fitting wise) It appears that be quiet! Just have not done their homework. Maybe they should have spoken to you!

TTL do you get feed back from the likes of be quiet. Like “we are redesigning this mount at this moment”

Keep up the good work.

Shame that this mount lets it down, atm im on a hunt for a decent cooler and i was thinking to get one of them(Black just look so good:)) but if it take 15 min for Pro to get it right it would take me ages. Silver arrow for me i think

.Very Good review

Good review Tom, cheers.

I am a little disappointed because it looks so much nicer than the NH-D14 but I am still going for the NH-D14 when I upgrade my RAM and heatsinks next month.

yh it does look like a good cooler, except for the mounting

Are you going to use it in the nvidia themed rig as to match the black with the Gigabyte G1 Assasin?

Hey there, I am the new kid in town. Came across your vids on google and start watching them.

Great stuff Tom, keep them up.

Anyway BeQuite, nice looking cooler. That did sound rather silent but the mounting looks dreadfull.

You would expect more research from them TBH. Although it fits all CPU sockets the mounting is terrible.

Shame I was loooking forward to see this doing pretty well.

Esthatic it looks briljant, nothing to dislike. Could be a good seller if price drops and mounting issue`s are taken care off.

Had a peek at what they sell here in Holland, it retails at 85 euro`s.

Now that is way too much in mine point of view. Missed oppertunity especially the D14 sells at 89 euro`s.

Sorry BeQuite you missed the boat.
