OC3D Review: Arctic Cooling Accelero X1 VGA Cooler

Core. Cranking these out these days arn't you PV. Another fine job:).

Im a big fan of Arctic cooling and this looks great!

Yeah mate, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to review and I jumped at the chance. I too love AC gear, and thanks for the feedback :)

looked okay but are 2 things i missed in it.

no picture on the rubber suspended motor, can be easily felt by pressing on the fan or backside of the motor

my head isnt where it supposed to be so i might have missed it.

also one "con's" i encountered is its so big so some chipset heatsinks will not work with it, i had to remove the zalman heatsink i had and put on a smaller active heatsink.

but i agree on the "pro's" its a good quiet heatsink.

lowered the temp from 55 to 45-48 in windows and at most 82c to atmost 60c when gaming and still whispering quiet cooling.

PV I must admit you do the highest quality reviews on OC3D, the picture quality of your images is much better than anyone else and the overall reviews are of a much higher standard. This also goes for the news, I can always tell when you have posted news before even looking at who did it.

Keep up the good work man and hopefully everyone else will follow suite (*hint* OC3D need better camera's *hint*)

Just my opinion anyway ;)

Thanks Hyper for the appraisal I try to take the best pics I can. Sometimes it works, sometimes not lol. Appreciated :)

He's an English professor at a uni, what do you expect
Erm not quite a professor lol. I'm a teacher, and am doing further study at Uni

Thanks Raven for your feedback too, it keeps me honest ;) I'll add to it when I get home from work

yet another great review from the OC3D team, keep it up :D

Hyper - a little unfair maybe? I find all the reviews and images equally as good and informative plus I think everyone contributes well to the News, I know there's been various threads on here by 'the management' that have certainly helped me in lots of different ways. Lets give em all a pat on the back after all, this is after a long days work for some? I'm not having a 'go' buddy, just supporting the whole team :D

It's a good review PV, good work as usual :)

I don't think many people on here are really qualified to talk about grammar, vocabulary and writing skills so unless you are I would prefer if your views were kept to yourselves, unless it's positive :)

Not all of us can afford £300+ camera's unfortunately, but I know for a fact that all of the pictures used in the reviews have the utmost care taken of them :)

Good review Peevs, like it - you'll be getting more stuff soon :)

Thanks for the feedback Hyper. Maybe you could let us know what is wrong with the photo's on other reviews, so that this can be corrected next time round. I know that both myself and kemp spend a lot of time photographing items multiple times to get the best shot, but if you'd like to see them taken differently - let us know :)

I wasnt complaining about anything, just pointing out that PV 's reviews are always of a really high standard :(

As for the camera issue, well I think if you intend on being a review site then you need a semi decent camera, I paid £180 for my Canon Ixus 55 and the quality it produces would be perfect for what you need.

Just my thoughts Kemp, dont take it so personal towards you ;)

How else than personally can I take it? ALL of the reviews are of the highest standard of writing and presentation and imo to say anything else is a personal affront.

Not sure I agree with Hyper. Been hanging around here quite some time now and all the reviews on Overclock3d seem to be pretty darn good. But the review was nice: a little wordy but nice :)

My video cards need some quieter cooling maybe an Accelero is the way to go? Do they do ones to fit the 7600GT?

TY in advance

I agree here with XMS, sorry I was gonna post this earlier but was rushing off to work. Both Matt and Jim are the consummate professionals when it comes to reviews, hell I'm still learning heaps off them. I appreciate the feedback on the review but it made me feel a little awkward considering these guys are my peers, and people I look up to and respect on a daily basis.

Thanks mate, I'll take the word count into consideration for the next one. I need to remember that a number of people still prefer to look at the pics instead of reading all of the content.

Cheers :)
