OC3D lets compared our internet connections

As good as it gets for my small CT town

Funny story, I've been running my desktops wirelessly for as long as I can remember because I've been too lazy to drill a hole in my floor and run a cable down to my modem (which is almost directly beneath my room, where my PC is) so as a temporary solution I bought a 100 ft ethernet cable and ran it out a window and up into my bedroom window :) Never going back to wireless! (But my mom is gonna kill me when she gets home...)
Here's a video of what I did

And a picture of the cable coming in my window :)

a bit of an odd one here, virgin did some work in my area (for the doublespeed project) and when everything rebooted, my backup speedtest site (which is normally 100% accurate) has started throwing out some VERY strange responses.

now either vm have screwed up somewhere and speedtest sites no longer like the connections, as speedtest.net was churning out some funky results as well, or i have sacrificed 4Mb upload for 550Mb extra download lol

well i have been having a running argument with Virgin, i am on 100mg BB, getting 100 Meg but only getting 4mb upload,

Yes 4 meg upload in faster than alot ore getting to download, but i pay for 10 meg upload give me it lol

im still arguing with them, been 2 week now with 3 engineers coming out, but its nothing the engineers can do, its stuff they need to do in india, but isnt on thier diaglog sheet so im getting now-where fast

Is that a consistent reading?
its consistant in as far as over 10 readings, they have ALL read over 575Mb/s lol

unfortunately yeren, some areas are not 10Mb upload enabled, yet you can get the full 100Mb download, once this doublespeed effort is out of the way you should get the full 10Mb

Just got free upgrade to BT infinity 2, Much better now :P

As it turns out, i'm eligible for a free upgrade too - annoying that I had to go on their website to check, and they didn't just offer it to me :(
May I ask; was there any extra fee? The website talks about a renewal of contract - I don't know if my contract states that every renewal costs £50, etc. :(
Nice speed you've got there - jealous of the upload for sure :(

I only got told about it by a friend last night :p i went on the website, filled out a form and this morning the upgrade was done :p It incurs no extra charge, but agreeing to the upgrade means you agree to renew your 12 month contract, which wasn't a problem at all for me because they have been great so far :p

How is that slower than only 51% of gb where as my 9mb's connection is slower than 71% ? :L Does it compare all connections with that isp or something?
