OC3D is Hiring!

have to play devils advocate here..
the text reviews i do tend to skip abit to the parts i want to know about..

the video reviews however i watch from start to end.

You do come across as having a 'pop' sometimes. I bought routers and the stuff to test it with just to review them as there was NONE available. But it's ok to have pop at someone who took the time to review something who has a busy life? I even bought products just to get the info out there is a little ott.

Given more time (which I do have now) there would be more detail, but lets be honest I don't know a single person who reads reviews wants to know all the "space filling detail" in the review, most people skip to 'how fast is it?' section.

I'm not here to argue and will take criticism - time on a review is everything. When people don't have it but still put something out there - it's very commendable.

Also most reviewers (not all) are just in it for the free stuff and for the wrong reasons and before you shoot me down on this, you only have to look at the for sale sections of various forums to see known reviewers selling on the free stuff or their eBay accounts.

Reviwing a product shouldn't be about getting free stuff - should be about getting that valuable info across that people can't find anywhere to make a consideration on their purchase.

My point stands - your review wouldnt cut it here so using that as a "this is the work Ive done before" I was stating I wouldnt have accepted that level as an article and you hadnt even have seen it.

Essentially I need to see what you would do now - NOT what you did back then which wasnt very good and certainly doesnt live up to "networking specialist"

Hey Tom. I read back through the thread and didn't find an answer to my other question regarding the required location of hardware reviewers. I know you are in the UK, and in all likelihood you would prefer someone UK based for that particular job, but as I am only in Germany I figured that it would be worth asking anyway.

Everyone has to prove their worth as a writer before hand dude - if someone reviews hardare for me I send them an entice test rig because all reviews need to be done on the same kit. Location isnt important but gaining the trust needed for me to send you everything is....

Thanks for the quick response fella. I understand that you aren't going to just hand out components to the first person that asks, but if the job was location dependent then applying at all would have been a waste of my time and yours, would it not? I'll get to putting some reviews together of hardware I already own and see how it goes. Thanks again for clearing that up for me, it's appreciated.

ill have a go at doing something when i get back to my desk to at my other house were my desktop is and i have parts to play with should hopefully be able to write something ok.

well potentially sending me stuff means i wont be applying then. autistic daughters love to find their way in to stuff.

and i have been searching for something to write about too lol..
guess il go back to my oppinions and comments :) (i prefer it like that any way)
