It's here! The :anisx: IRC server, now on a DEDICATE SERVER! w00tage.

Some of you may be familiar with IRC, some of you may not be. mIRC is a great, simple IRC chat program for Windows that I use a scripted version of. Search mIRC Scripts in google if u want to find a nice 1337 script for yourself. Or download mIRC HERE!

Server Information

Addresses: irc.sysxtreme.com (USA) & irc3.sysxtreme.com (UK)

Port: 6667

Currently Active Channels:#sysxtreme #sxradio #sxgaming #trivia

Please join up and feel free to stay! All forum mods, please join up ASAP so that I can get you setup as Channel Ops, etc :)

Excellent.. I ran an IRC server for around a year a few of years ago, CrazyChat that was, I used to use Epona services before Anope came out (which is an updated version of Anope) but then I switched to Anope.. All very nice services :D Still got my "CrazyChat mIRC".

why... why the fugg not ?! i love irc... its good for blabbing and some shit and it makes the forum community tighter....

everyone who doesnt know... check out www.ircmadeasy.com (no thats not a typo, only one e) to find some good clients and basics....
 
indeed it does... i can't believe i hadn't thought of starting an IRC server before the mention of having one for the CS:S clan. No brainer!

Anyhow we had a nice little rush this morning... Myself, setite, envias, eguy, and PV all had some quality chat time :)

Just FYI, u don't need to disconnect from IRC, it's AOK to idle. You can set your client to minimize to the system tray to stay out of the way, and animate the icon when there's action for you to go and check out.

If anyone finds any glitches or anything they'd like to see improved or added, PLEASE let me know. I'm here to make the server as awesome as possible. Direct your suggestions to me in this thread.

Dav0s ur clear to do what u want on the server mate... It's a publicly run area. I'll change the thread over to reflect the new channel name when I get home.

Just remember, in an irc environment u can do whatever u want. Start your own channel and moderate it, start a file sharing channel, etc.
 
yea sorry about not answering earlier eguy... i was playing battlefront 2 beta.. woot the jedi shit is nuts.... question... i thought there was suppose to be balance... with jedi being available limited time... i had vader and obi wan for well over 10 minutes each... didnt lose them till the match ended... which was my fault for taking over bases so fast :)

and yea im getting the file... the bot i was getting it from was only 10k so it took hours to get to 300 megs.. now im resuming that on a new bot that is giving me 60k... but i gotta watch it because it likes to disconnect on me...
 
So you all know... I'm going to get underway on a completely custom mIRC script which will be super user friendly yet very powerful script with a lot of much needed utilities and entertainment features.

A buddy of mine that used to co-admin my previous servers was a crazy good mIRC scripter and I've gotten ahold of him in hopes to recruit his talent to this project.

Mefinks the script name will be ScriptXtreme :)

I'll post the progress status as soon as it's available!

it is nuts, and your the jedi until you die ;) I never am able to become one though
 
ok , why would u not get a channel in gamesurge , where you can find scrims and matches and stuff ? making an entire own server does not make sense , you can get the channel registered in your name on gamesurge.irc.net . there where all the cs 1.6 / cs:source gamers hang around . Im in SC atm but lemme get back to Indiana , ill setup a clan channel for us. That way we can advertise for scrim whenever we have 5 ppl in the Ventrilo and get practice.

The IRC server is now hosted on a dedicated server box with redundant OC-192 connections in California, yay!

Just logon using irc.sysxtreme.com and you'll be cooking with gas.

To any current users: Unfortunately during the server switch all nick registrations were lost, please remember to register your nickname with nickserv as soon as you join, thanks!

In a few hours you will also be able to connect to irc2.sysxtreme.com which is linked directly to irc.sysxtreme.com. Infact there's absolutely no difference no matter which one you connect to.. lol. They are both hosted on the same box with the same connection, the only difference really is that Frag will be running irc and I will be running irc2, but since they're both linked they go to the same place anyway.

I think soon there may be a UK server which will be irc3.sysxtreme.com but don't quote me..

Note: Don't try and get on irc2.sysxtreme.com now because it isn't connected to irc.sysxtreme.com and won't be for a few hours.. I'll tell you when it is.
