Exactly.

We do try to run competitions for the community whenever possible, but as I've said time and time again; most manufacturer sponsored competitions are just as much about them getting the exposure (and hitting the max # of people they can) as it is about us giving something away to readers.

If given the choice to run a public competition or no competition at all, I'm sure everyone will agree that former is the preferred option. Better to have some chance rather than no chance right?
