Nvidia's rumoured to be working on a fully unlocked RTX 2080 Super GPU

Nvidia must love annoying their customers, But then again they know most of their customers would stick with them even if their next xx80 series increased in price by 60% and offered a measly 27% performance gain over last gen.

But many will also sell their current cards and get the next one because current gen arent losing that much value.

The biggest difference would be for 4K resolutions thanks to that extra bandwidth, would help it compete better against the Radeon VII since that's by far RVII's strongest gaming area against the 2080.

It's a slap in the face. I was thinking we would get the next gen now. Like, Ampere or whatever. I was warned by my pal in Taiwan not to entertain the Turing cards as they would be replaced a year later.

However, Nvidia seem to be milking it again and getting *another* card out of Turing. Kinda like how they released the 780Ti and Titan Black to pee off 780 and Titan owners. However, things were totally different then.

Remember I said it was a slap in the face? note me not going off on some rant about how out of order it was? that's because it's a deserved slap in the face.

The more Nvidia slap people in the face the more they'll realise they really shouldn't be paying these prices for GPUs. Slowly but surely they will have the Intel effect (TM) and people will actually lose the brand loyalty. Which let's face it, is a very good thing. Once that loyalty goes people are then open to other options and vendors and the world is a much better (and cheaper!) place.

But releasing one card because they are worried about Navi affecting their product stack is just the ultimate slap in the face.

I mean, how twattish is that? So ignorant of the entire GPU market right now. Everything they sell is over priced. Everything. Instead of dropping prices they will just release another card so they can keep the prices exactly as they are.

I dunno, god give me strength.

The price. a new 2080 holds a special place among the GPU's. You might say it has a certain wisdom. To ensure whoever possesses it understands its power, the new 2080 demands a sacrifice.

"You failed. And do you wanna know why? Because you love nothing. No one" - Lisa Su to Jensen Huang at family gatherings.

There was a fair degree of certainty amongst everyone I asked last November that expecting a new GPU generation before 2020 was completely wishful thinking as they'd committed to 7nm EUV and its design rules long ago(This decision must have been made ~3 years ago). This was quite predictable imo they've been talking about 16Gbps GDDR6 for a while.

You just ruined the scene.
