Nvidia's rumoured RTX 40 series flagship "The Beast" specs are insane!

Why wouldn't they release it? 3090 was an epic success. 500+W on AIB cards they sold almost all of them. And they will sell every single RTX4090 Beast edition.

Do you know why? Because since HD 7970, which was more than a decade ago, no one has beaten them. And they can do and release whatever they want and whenever they want.

And while you may argue AMD cards are still good they are not. Over 200 titles and counting more everyday support DLSS which is objectively better than AMD's FSR which supports 110 games.

If you want to play RT games it is Nvidia only.

Blender dropped AMD support, it is CUDA and OptiX only. All other render engines are pretty much Nvidia only.

Until someone beats Nvidia or at least catches up with them they can release 2000W GPU and PSU makers would race to Jensen with their new designs so that the Lord himself will approve their models as worthy enough for the new fastest GPU. And people will wait in lines to buy them.

All of this was said 100 times over for Intel over the past decade. And until AMD made Ryzen Intel could do anything, and sell everything.

We need a Ryzen GPU.

How ironic would it be if that GPU came from Intel? ^_^
Intel is probably the only one who could do it. Although AMD has done some amazing stuff the Radeon Technologies Group probably has less staff than Nvidia's software division.

Even though Alchemist GPUs are not that impressive now Intel definitely has a bigger ego than Nvidia. They are not coming into the game with a plan to be second best.

Yeah, I was being a bit sarcastic, but the irony of it would be that Intel got beaten by AMD with ther Ryzen. Now if Intel would beat Nvidia in the future with GPUs, then the circle has gone full round essentially ^_^

As long as this circle kept turning it would be beautiful.

They won't release it because they have literal tons of stock that they over made to cope with the demand from miners. This happened last time mining stopped on the PC.

They make tons of cards, then have to compete with the droves of their own cards turning up second hand. If they launch the 40 series too soon they either have to massively slash prices on inventory for the 30 series due to the mentality of people (30 being a lower number, EOL, etc etc) and then of course those prices will compete with the 40 series directly.

If the 30 series are cheap AF how are they going to command two grand for a 4090?

With things as they are right now Nvidia may not have shipped any dies out to board partners. In fact, they could still be making 30 series cards with all of the dies Nvidia have over produced to cope with the demand that is no longer there.

If they sit on the dies and wait until the 30 series inventory is gone they can get those stupid prices. Once they have launched them and the cat is out of the bag? that 30 series inventory is worthless, because no one wants it.

It's the same for AMD. There is no worse competition than that of yourself.

I agree with you. They want to sell 30xx cards. Jay even mentioned that we may se 40xx cards next year.

Nvidia may not release 4090 now. But the article and the discussion was about power, and would Nvidia dare to release 800W monster. And yes they would and they will. They just don't care.

Of course they will. You don't release an imperfect product because you want to, you do it because it's business. No doubt they will wrap it up in a way that sounds good and positive...

Jay is wrong on all counts at the moment. He is in cohorts with EVGA, and constantly goes up there for free stuff. So he is trying to push GPUs at the moment. Of course he is, he has probably been asked to.

Every one else disagrees with him, for a good reason. Just keep playing the waiting game, you have nothing at all to lose. Whilst Jen may be happy to be sat on a pile of 40 series stuff his shareholders certainly won't be.

They may well use those 4090s as some sort of Quadro powerhouse GPU in the meantime.

BTW going back to all of this let's use a simple piece of history that actually happened last time. AMD were sat on piles of Vega stock that was doing incredibly well during the last mining flurry. Mostly because it was a bit crap for gaming, yet absolutely brilliant for mining because of the GPU memory bandwidth. When it prolapsed? the Vega 56 and 64 were going for an absolute song. IIRC my buddy paid about £250, brand spanking new, for a 56. He still has it, and is now playing the waiting game for a 3080/6800XT. He did try and order a FE 3080 but his credit card (business card, he has to use it to get the VAT back as he is a graphic designer/sign maker in his business) rejected it as fraud.

Oh we did have a bloody good laugh over that :D

But yeah, recently since the Deston update on PUBG he has noticed that his textures are popping really badly even on land. This usually happens even for me on 2080Ti/6800XT as you are parachuting in, but not on land. Meaning 8gb for 1440p is not enough now that Deston is out. So yeah, he is deffo in the market but I have told him to chill for a bit.
