Nvidia's RTX 3080 Ti will reportedly launch in April with 12GB of memory

They talk about "launch", not that there will be enough stock available, so....WHO CARES!!!

It's not a matter of supply, a lot of these GPUs are being produced, there is simply too much demand. While many can see these two things as being the same, they aren't.

Nvidia and AMD are not facing yield issues and they are both literally creating as many cards as they can. The RTX 3080 is already at 0.63% on the Steam hardware survey, almost as high as the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Super.

it will cost 1400-1500 euro in reality.... so yes who cares.

if i was into gaming i would try to get a console.
and don´t buy anything from nvidia or amd for the next 3-4 years.

This could be a stellar (theoretical) card if it comes in at a good price. It could easily make the 6900XT a poor choice.

6900xt is already a poor choice tbh.

Imo all of them are but 6900xt has little value.

Well, yeah, that's a given. But seeing as these cards are just numbers on a sheet at the moment, a 3080Ti would be a better card than the the 6900XT. All we have right now is numbers on a screen, that's why I put 'theoretical' in there.

I don't know if they are producing cards as much as they can or not. Reality is that the biggest retailer here in Spain, a Company that makes around 400M € a Year, has been with RTX 3060ti, 3070, 3080 and almost 3090 without stock FOR TWO MONTHS ALREADY. And there is no date for more units.

As for AMD, the only cards that are from time to time available are the 6800 non XT, at around 1000€ (like 1200$) and they are selling like it was cheap. Stocks empty in just 1-2days at most.

So, the issue is THERE. There is no stock. Amazon Spain has the same issues, no stock, and the little there is, is just so "madly" overpriced, that it's just hilarious to even consider buying them.

I love how every Nvidia related thread turns into poor stock. Quite hilarious tbh.

They are making as much as they can. Just because one area doesn't get any doesn't really mean much. If people would prioritize more important things in life and stop buying all these luxury items it wouldn't create such a shortage. If countries actually started to reopen demand would fall and supply would increase as they are able to keep production high(to an extent as they are basically backlogged).

I think Nvidia, AMD and AIB's are just drip feeding the market intentionally to keep prices high as possible. I also believe in Conspiracy theories :D

It seems the high pricing can be put down predominantly to the shipping chaos, and the lack of availability due to the clear gap between demand and production in turn partly down to crypto currencies boom in value.

Here in the UK, NVidia's cards haven't been *too hard* to get with stock notification bots and such (Besides the FE ones which are a fair bit trickier), if you're willing to pay the hefty price premium at the moment. AMD ones though, never personally seen a page with a "Buy" button instead of "Sold Out" or equivalent even with stock notifications, except on some insanely priced models, and the drops are far less frequent at the moment

Is there reasonable availability in the US?

I think they are selling so many to miners they don't give and shizzle :D

AMD has stock afterall they had enough that sapphire gave me one for gratis XD

It'll sort itself out once the miners are like we have enough now thanks :)

Glad to report that amd drivers for me zero issues, so they are an option and DXR works fine on all games i've tested, so if they get their version of dlss nvidia will be very worried.

But I don't understand how miners can buy them but gamers can't. Obviously miners buy in bulk, so why don't retailers limit sales to 1 per costumer per day or something like that. That way, even if miners were buying, so would gamers. Or am I missing something here? It's not like miners have secret access to vast quantities of cards by cutting out the middle man. They still have to go on OCUK or Scan to buy the cards, right?

Depends, average joe miners, why separate them from gamers? Same people. 100% most "miners" in the wild are just gamers putting their rig to use in spare time.

There will be small numbers out there of people buying 2-20 cards, these people will be using the same routes as everyone else, but will be more happy to pay a premium for the expensive listings that gamers will ignore.

The big miners? The real earners with buildings bought near renewable power sources specifically for the purpose and so on? They will the people reported to be buying up cards direct from NVidia, Sapphire, MSI, ect, likely hiring out whole aircraft, private freight, ect for the purpose

OK, that makes sense.

It's not a matter of supply...

A contact in Hamburg informed this morning that NVIDIA in a recent Germany communication noted that the RTX 3000 Series will for the entire 2021 first quarter to be even more difficult to obtain. And especially the availability of the GeForce RTX 3090, 3080, 3070 and 3060 Ti. The Chinese New Year which begins on February 12 is only partially to blame for its 15-day shutdown of the factories. The specific source of this communication came though "Alternate" (Shift IT) with major distribution centers in Germany, Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands. This most likely will keep at least for the time being the 'second hand used pricing ' and the purchases of new available GPU's at much higher price points. I would also suspect that this further delay of availabilities may impact itself on the MSRP pricing of the entire 3000 series once the market comes into full-swing. FYI: I just took delivery of a new LG refrigerator after having to wait for it's delivery 120-days. The big deal...a price increase over the 2020 model of 35%. This sounds like Z590 mobos which may have come on the same boat?
