Nvidia's RTX 3070 will launch on October 15th - RTX 3080 Review Embargo Delayed

It's not jensen guys it's the governments, they want to put subliminal messages to flash on your screen so quick you don't notice them so they can mind control you
Lol joking btw

As someone who directly deals with stuff shipping internationally, I can tell you that moving stuff around the world atm is busy, very busy. Getting space on vessels from the far east is tough and because of it the shipping lines are raising the prices on space. (you think you've seen price fixing in the tech world, it's nothing compared to the shipping lines)
You can't blame nvidia if a few got damaged in shipping or were doa, it happens, last thing they want is Jay to release a review and the same day Steve posts a video saying he got a dead one. It's only a couple of days, they're not going to be changing anything now the cards in mass production and probably in amazon warehouses in places around the world but trust me international shipping is not the best right now.

It's obvious that the technology they didn't reveal on announcement day isn't entirely fleshed out yet.

The higher refresh rate monitors are no coincidence, as they'll utilise that greater bandwith to your eyes to actually use your own mind as additional memory due to low VRAM in these cards. In addition they can inject thoughts such as "leather jackets are cool", "sure, 1500€ is a reasonable price for a consumer graphics card" and "actually, Linus Torvalds can go f himself".

Once Jen has made sure you bought one with half.

And AMD have shown their hand.

Let me put it another way; I'm on the fence about going with this one or wait - can't do both (might not even want to do the 2nd if the price for the additional memory is mental). Whichever I go with, I'm not in a hurry right now and can wait another few months of need be.

If they are going to just slap more memory chips instead of higher capacity ones the cards are going to be expensive. A good part of why 3090 is 2x the price of 3080 is because of the 24 memory modules.

Before I get called a conspiracy theorist again....

1. These cards are cheap for a few reasons.

Namely, they want to look like the good guys.
They want to see what AMD has.
They want to know what the consoles can do.

They don't know the answers to that yet, so you can assume this is a tentative "test the waters" launch. As such it is not the only launch of Ampere you will see.

2. They have restricted the VRAM to make sure that if they do indeed beat AMD that they will get you back for their refresh, or Super cards, or whatever else they decide to milk out of Ampere. This is a historical proven fact, then never just release one set of cards per gen unless AMD are totally dead in the water. Fact is they weren't, and Navi forced Nvidia to release better cards and screw over every one.

3. Going back to the good guys? I can bet you everything I own if AMD fail they will go straight back to being assholes. The higher VRAM cards will come out at much higher prices. Remember - Nvidia don't do anything nice for any one. They never have and they never will.

So what I am saying is? don't be fooled. 10gb VRAM is less than the 11 we have already ! think about it. The only way to be safe? go to the £1300 card.

Look, I have gone through this on other forums. I was called mad. However, what I do have is 6 years experience in the most cut throat sales business I have ever had the misfortune to be in. It was an American company, and they used to train us on ripping people off. Seriously it amounted to no more than that.

They call it "rail roading" or "linear higher sales". The way they do it? well basically on the TV right they advertise this product "risk free" (there is your first catch out, people think it is free IT IS NOT). You call in and you find out it's $70. On automatic shipment/debit every 60 days. You can not just buy it once, unless you buy 6 of them for $400 as a one time shipment. This is called an upsale. And, the script says that at every attempt they make to buy the cheaper one you tell them why they shouldn't, and only use it as a fall back. If you don't sell the $400 one? no extra comission.

So when Nvidia design their product stack they use the exact same dirty tricks they were taught in marketing school. It's exactly the same stuff we used to get "trained" to do.

So they basically start leading you to the more expensive products by cutting back the cheaper ones. When you question it you say "Hmm, maybe I should go for the 3080?" or "Hmm, maybe I should just get the best one I can".

And that is what it is designed to do. Those selling their 2080Ti? if they buy this "cheap"* 3080? they will be back. Why? as it's not even spec for spec for what they have already. And Nvidia know this. They know that next gen titles (NOTE - NEXT GEN NOT LIKE ANYTHING WE HAVE NOW!) are going to pig on VRAM more so than ever before, because they are all going to be 4k games and PC gamers demand higher resolution textures and all of the eye candy. Which all eats VRAM.

*So the first thing out of your mouth when watching that Nvidia video (don't lie, I said it too !) was "Holy crap they are cheap !!!!!". They are not. They are just cheaper than Turing, and if you study the stack you will see how any one with a 2080Ti really should buy a 3090. As basically the 3080 is under specced (only on VRAM).

They're not cheap though. They are just Pascal prices. On a lousy node, that guzzle voltage.

Well maybe because you can't seem to stop posting conspiracy theories basing everything off of your negative perspective:D

I keep telling you I don't have a negative perspective. You should really see me when I am negative (IE depressed). I am not. I've been on Citalopram for two years. I've not called any one names in as long as that, and I have not taken any overdoses either.

I am just a realist. Tell me I am lying. Please, try and prove, on form, how Nvidia are all of a sudden good guys, when they have spent the last 20+ years being total assholes?

You can't, can you?

Edit. We had this before with Dawelio. Do I really need to sit here digging up all of my incredibly positive threads, comments and etc? I've got two build logs going, both positive. I've said for months how excited I am about the new Xbox. Funny how that all flushes down the crapper when I say something "negative".

LOL every single one of you at some point in your life has begged for some honesty. Usually from the opposite sex. You don't get it, and I am negative? hahahahaha.

I would hate to see the response if I started lying and pretending like every one seems to these days. Just appreciate the fact that what you see is what you get. If I think something is crap? I will say so. I won't hide it and pretend to be a good boy :D

They LOVED me in the states.

You certainly have a strange way of showing it though :)

Everything is all about BS, and scams, and manipulations, and then large posts to justify the pessimism. Not to be rude, while you are entitled to your opinion, it gets a little too tiring to read. We only comment on how we see it. You obviously dont see it the same way we do.

But anyway, we are way off topic now.

All the talk and hype about 30x series means nothing until we see the reviews. Until then, its nothing but heresay. And anyone can quote what they want about their friend who works in the industry, who posted on another forum who heard from Jensens Goldfish who was in the meeting room at the time... it means nothing.

Hey now you go easy, Jensens Goldfish is the man, Even has a mini leather jacket !

We only comment on how we see it.

Checksum.... Apply to all.....

That is exactly what I do.

I'm just honest. It's OK, we do exist. Certain subjects I won't be as positive about. The world keeps turning.

Like I said, at least once in your life you will yearn for some honesty. You'll never get it though.

BTW anything involving Nvidia is all BS, lies, etc any way. Always has been always will be.

I'm not entirely sure why your previous post is talking about irrelevant things and it continues in this in response to what I said.

You clearly have a negative perspective of Nvidia. That's all I said. Which you just essentially said here as well. The subject of opinion here is Nvidia. Talking about honesty is really just an irrelevant point of conversation.

You are entitled to your opinion of course, the past handful of days has been non-stop Nvidia ranting. Again you are allowed to. So I was merely pointing out the irony as to why you were called a conspiracy theorist and you not understanding why.

I won't comment further, you can keep talking crap about Nvidia. It won't bother me at all. I have no reason to defend them and have no desire to argue over them. Just felt like I should explain myself to avoid any bad blood you may have thought was intentional.

Let's just keep this on topic now. If you would like to talk something out feel free to dm me. Cheers bud.

The narrative of viewing large corporations as the "good guys" and "bad guys" should just die off. Personifying them serves no purpose and makes pragmatic discourse fairly difficult.

We've got plenty of concrete information to work on, and it's a given that Nvidia's provided scenarios are best case ones. That is true for all big players in computer hardware. Also, marketing by definition is manipulation. Constantly pointing out this obvious tidbit with long paragraphs doesn't make you honest, woke or anything of the sort, and forces others to weed through pages of nonsense where there didn't need to be any.

Also, since the above doesn't need pointing out, not mentioning it doesn't make people overtly positive or dishonest. We'll simply have more to discuss about once the reviews are out proper, without having to speculate.

Yeah, I do have a negative perspective of Nvidia if that is how you want to reword it dude. I just call it "I don't like Nvidia" as it's quicker and easier.

For every day I have been on this forum it is the same. So, I am consistent if anything else.

Just like how you prefer the PS to the Xbox. Do you see me calling you negative about the Xbox? no dude.

And yes, I have been ranting. Mostly because I don't like the look of what is coming. I doubt that will change either, unless of course I am picking up humble pie crumbs come January.

We don't need to take it to PM we are all adults here (sorta, kinda ;) ) and I am referring to me with that, BTW not you :p
