Read more on Nvidia releasing their HairWorks Source Code on GitHub.

Gameworks isn't open.. but the hair is. Not much point then? TrexxFX 3.0 or whatever they call it now is easier on hardware afaik and has same features.

Even the source code stuff in gameworks in not really open, or at least not open source like AMD.

I have not had a chance to try to get and read the EULA for the GitHub GameWorks stuff, but I imagine that it has limitations.

Yeah exactly. It's like a half-*** effort and just seems like they are doing it to say "yeah we do open source too"

It is a positive step, but as I have said before, Nvidia want to have full control of their ecosystem but who can really blame them for that.

It is but with Nvidia there is always a catch and hidden motive. The industry can blame them for controlling everything. Closed source technology that only benefits one company isn't really the way forward. Especially with this whole VR thing and other tech like HDR, AR, etc. Closing it off won't really put it into consumer hands, or if it does take a long time. With open source, everyone has access to it and can improve a strong base, innovation will start much quicker, which will increase the hype and keep consumers coming back. Which is the goal right? Make money and all^_^

Has anyone read and broke down the.EULA to see their requirements?

I tried looking but couldn't find it. Not many have which does indicate something is trying to stay hidden for a reason. Otherwise they'd be advertising it like crazy for PR purposes
