seems likely about the 6990 in direct competition with the 590, but the difference is that nvidia have got there game back on so, and with issue that the 6000 series have dunno whos gonna win

EVGA dual GPU is EVGA dual gpu. Not nvidia's. Its part of there sr-2 line up i'm assuming.

There will be no question it'll run hot just because of what it is.. Hopefully they keep the noise down but again, it's two GPUs on a single card... They have to do something with the heat it'll produce which might be a slightly noisy cooler when it ramps up.

Is this going to be the fight between the 6990 and the 590 then? or will the 6990 blow it out the water like the 5970 did/does with everything else?
And if your putting that 6870 in the bin put it in a box with my address on it and put it in the red bin outside the post office please
I'd bet on nvidia to make the faster card since they have the faster chip, and the 5970 didn't have any dual-gpu competition so of course it was the fastest card.

awesome though maby a PCIE 2.0 @ x 16 slot is bottlenecking 2 full power G110 chips and overclocking, it'll work when all the memory etc isn't used. Ive found evidence that the 480's are blottlenecked by PCIE 2.0 @ x 8 slots at tripple monitor setups, res of +5000 x 1200ish, using 2 480's, each in a PCIE 2.0 @ x 8 slot.

This card is looking to be a stonking performer if it really does have two 580 cores on there.
It is supposed to have the same core as the 580, but that doesn't mean they will be clocked at the same speeds. I am willing to bet 2 580s will still be a bit more powerful than the 590, it would have to be to reduce heat. They can't just put two GTX 580s together.

I am gonna wait until I upgrade for these cards. If they are better than the 580, I will get 2.

Hurt? The only reason Im not using Nvid atm is the stupid 3screens need 2 cards BS. If this single GPU supports 3 then Im going green again.

quad SLI is rubbish
