Nvidia's 2-4x RTX 4090 performance claims don't hold up in current games

After last time around did anyone really expect that the claims would hold up ?
upto claim means a lot less than most so 2x is most likely an upto which means maybe most be 50% and 4x with dxr and dlss3 means similar.
be intresting to see real numbers soon i'm guessing a lot different to how they state hardware unboxed will most likely do a deep dive and other reviewers will give a general overview.
but 4x times faster than a 3090ti na not a chance without dlss3

This is utter nonsense from Nvidia, performance is and was always work over time. Twice the performance would mean you did twice the work in the same time. Changing the work is NOT INCREASING THE PERFORMANCE in fact you could argue its 0 performance because the actual work was never done properly. That’s why all the claims that DLSS/FSR/XeSS increase performance are always and will always be a lie. Things like A-sync Compute or Shader Rearrangement (like Nvidia does now) are REAL Performance improvements. If I would have invented fake images for my studies then I would have been thrown out of my University but for Nvidia Fake Information is somehow performance, sorry but this garbage has no place in a scientific workspace. That’s why you should never consider anything with such "cheating software" to be a real Benchmark, its fraudulent to any costumer and shareholder. And if I would have been a shareholder I would have sued Nvidia after this outrageous presentation. If they really advertise with those fake Frames here in Germany then I may be forced to write to the local consumer protection agency.
They dumbed down the ultimate result for the masses now, so that everything is all about the FPS. It tricks people into thinking that if you see 20fps before and 60fps after then it doesnt matter that DLSS is the reason, they think the card has performed much more on a hardware level.

Nothing exceptional. Its just the Gaming X Trio cooler, so it looks identical to the 2080ti series. Which I also have.
I figured if I can hit the lottery on the 2080ti for overclocking I could get lucky on the 3090ti also.

it would be nice to have 50% more gaming perfomance for the same money.
but i don´t see that.
i could be happy as i have actual use cases for tensor cores and RT beside games.
but for a pure gamer this RT stuff is becoming an annoyance.

i want to see native perfomance!

in the end they interpolate images they don´t just upscale.

The problem is everything is now micro managed.
It used to be the case that you could buy a new GPU with better price to performance than ever. That used to be what made them worth buying. The problem now is some twunt in sales has realised that price to performance is a thing that people gauge, so they now make sure the stacks all align perfectly.
So basically? for a while here the P2P of the 30 series is going to be higher than the new tech. Which oddly enough happened even during Ampere too, where prices were going to be much lower supposedly.
I don't quite know how they have managed to do that tbh, but they have. They also started gimping cards way lower down in the stack making them not much better than the cards before in that stack. At higher prices.
As for native performance? you won't see that until after the pre orders. It will be much higher, due to raw clock speed IMO. But it certainly won't be what they are boasting of.
One of the poorest performing RT games is Dying Light 2. So they use Cyberpunk for their demos.

In some of their demos in tiny writing at the bottom it said "When using DLSS performance mode" XD

Waiting to actually receive the card. The blocks are now only made to order so i will hold off. All I need is to buy the block only for the etailer to say "sorry we were wrong, we wont be getting any cards, here is your full refund"

I paid something utterly daft like $4 for a Chinese symbol lmao. I thought "what the hey, why not". Turns out it was VAT, so when it arrived I didn't have to pay a penny more.
Easily the nicest block I have ever had. Shame about the card underneath it, but we won't go into that
Maybe at some point in the future I will order directly from TW again. They sent me some nice freebies too ! which is always lovely.
